If you take a trip to Scotland and you’re looking for your very own hot Highland wolf, here are some tips for taming one—whether he resists the idea or not.

Let’s start with a little inspiration from one of my favorite Highland wolves, Grant from Hero of a Highland Wolf, and see how his lady tames him:

What if she had kissed him and rubbed that sweet body against his in an attempt to heel him as she had the wolfhounds, only she didn’t even have to give him a treat to make him mind?

Put a big check mark in the ‘petting’ category for taming your shifter mate. My other tips:

1. Never be cowed. A sexy alpha wolf, Highland or otherwise, respects a woman with a backbone.

2. Show him you what you can do—in Hero of a Highland Wolf, Colleen Playfair has a way with dogs. I learned this from my daughter who was training her Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, and it gave me the idea about Colleen. Even with humans and their dog companions, the human must show he or she is the alpha of the family pack. So even if Colleen hasn’t mastered Grant or his pack, she can show she is capable of taking control of his unruly Irish Wolfhounds when nobody else is.

3. Take charge, and prove that you have what it takes to be in charge.

4. Compromise. Fight the battles that mean the most and then the lesser ones, shrug them off.

5. Show you’re compassionate about family values. Wolves love that.

6. Rescue one of his pack members. Now that is a sure way to win the hearts of every wolf in the pack, and who knows, it might even sway that big old alpha just a bit.

7. Show how much you love his home, just as much as he does. That you’re not just a visitor there, but someone who appreciates the real beauty.

8. Appreciate the good and the bad. Showing you can live with either, and deal with it satisfactorily proves you have what it takes to be an alpha leader. He’ll respect you all the more for it.

9. Take over his bed when you need to be closer to the bathroom. Try it. It’ll make him run, or well, you never know.

10. Have fun. If he’s all scowly and growly, don’t let it show that it bothers you. It’s really hard for someone to be that way when you’re having fun and everyone around you is enjoying your company. Either it will make him fold, or he’ll wish he wasn’t so stubbornly resisting the idea of having some fun with you too.

I loved it! Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark Series is one of my favorite paranormal romance series and I’ve been looking forward to Thronos and Lanthe’s story. Dark Skye is now one of my favorites in the series. It was filled with action, suspense, humor, and passion. It kept me on edge and flipping the pages until the end. Thronos and Lanthe’s love story was epic! A scorching hot and emotional story. I highly recommend this new book in this incredible series. Kresley Cole never disappoints and always leaves me anxiously awaiting the next book. One of the reasons I love her books so much is because when I pick one up I slip into another world and feel like I’m taking the journey with the characters. Not many writers can create that kind of experience for readers. If you haven’t read the series you should start at the beginning and if you’re a fan you’ll love Dark Skye. I can’t wait for the next book!

Richart stumbled backward and wrapped his arms around the woman to keep her from falling.

Clinging to the front of his shirt, she buried her face in his chest. “Is he gone?”

“Yes,” he responded, surprised she was so coherent. When vampires and immortals turned, glands formed above the retractable fangs they grew that released a chemical much like GHB under the pressure of a bite. So she should be slurring her words.

A true blending of different personalities and strengths that is written smoothly so that you truly believe they have been together for centuries. I usually don’t like the “fated mate you have no choice” storylines but in this series it works. Amidst all the battles and delving into the other character’s lives, they manage to meet their destiny together in true Guardian fashion. Did I mention it is hot? Without giving anything away, I’ll just say that I loved the water scenes. I could not put it down.

The sad truth is that I’m not nearly as entertaining as fiction. *Wink* I am a thirty-seven year old stay at home writer, thanks to my incredibly supportive husband. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate—he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in nineteenth-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

But Nina shows no signs of being scared away, even as she experiences some unnerving apparitions herself. And as the two of them work closely together to restore the mansion’s faded glory, Deacon realizes that he’s found someone who doesn’t seem to like his fortune more than himself—while Nina may have finally found the one man she can trust with her bruised and battered heart.

But something on the island doesn’t believe in true love…and if Nina and Deacon can’t figure out how to put these angry spirits to rest, their own love doesn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

This was a fun fast-paced ghost story that kept you guessing through the whole thing. The romance was light through most of the book but heated up toward the end and flowed nicely with the storyline. I loved that Deacon was a geek as it added a fun wrinkle to the romance. The group of characters interacted with each other naturally and the banter was quite humorous. They made quite the ensemble to counteract the ghostly and human dangers lurking about. All in all a fun read.

When Molly Harper was eight years old, she set up a “writing office” in her parents’ living room, complete with an old manual typewriter and a toy phone. Jane drowns her sorrows at the local faux nostalgia-themed sports bar. On her way home, she’s mistaken for a deer and shot by a drunk hunter. And then she wakes up as a vampire. A third installment, How to Run With a Naked Werewolf, will be released in December 2013. Her first-ever “haunted house story,” Better Homes and Hauntings, will be released in June 2014.

Molly will launch her first-ever contemporary romance series with My Bluegrass Baby in December 2012. Rhythm and Bluegrass was released in October 2013.

Oh my goodness I loved this book so much! This series just keeps getting better and better! I’ve have always loved Hauk and couldn’t wait for this book! He ends up with the perfect woman for him. She kicks butt and protects her male. Loved Sumi! Their story is full of action, danger, emotion and romance. Sherrilyn Kenyon puts so much into her stories that the reader experiences the world of The League Series and you take the journey with her characters. The reader experiences such a full range of emotions. I’ve received some comments from other readers about being reluctant to try the series because of the space setting and I wanted to let everyone know that if you love Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter Series you will love The League Series too. It’s not really about the setting for me. It’s about Kenyon’s dynamic characters and their stories. They’re just incredible and there is not another author like Kenyon. I love them all!

1. I just finished reading Born of Fury (I loved Hauk and Sumi) and went back to read Born of Ice (Devyn’s book) because the kids were so cute in Born of Fury I wanted to read about some of them as adults. Who’s next in The League Series? One of the a kids of The Sentella or one of their adult friends?

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Answer:
Aww thank you, sweetie!! That means a lot to me.

I will, for the most part (and this will make sense later) do only the parents until we run out, LOL. And then return to GEN 2 for The League. I’m trying to go in chronological years, though Born of Defiance will go back in time to start and then catch up to present day in the series by the end of the book. There’s a ton of info about Cairistiona, Nyk, Aros and many others in it (it starts right before Born of Night begins).

But, the next League book is Born of Betrayal, which will be Fain and Galene and then Born of Defiance, which is Galene’s son Talyn and his Felicia (you will LOVE them in BOB).

Both Born of Betrayal (May) and Born of Defiance (Nov) will be out in 2015.

2. Any chance The League series has been talked about for TV rights? I think it’d be great on the SyFy channel! I can’t wait for CON and Dark-Hunter movies and TV shows!

3. In the Dark-Hunter Series do you know who’s coming next and in what order or do some characters demand to be heard first? I’m always thrilled with whoever you chose to write about but we’d love to know when some of our favorites will get a book. Savitar, Remi, Jaden, Thorn, and Solin are some characters I’m dying to read more about. I picture a giant timeline on your wall or something.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Answer:
LOL, I got lots of OTHER stuff on my walls (mostly to scare my children away so they won’t bother me while I’m working). But no time lines. I try to control them, but they’re like herding cats.

The next one up though, is Thorn’s little brother (Cadegan) and the Devereaux sister’s fave cousin (Jo). The neatest thing about it is you learn a lot about Thorn and Max (the Sanctuary dragon) and it’s tied to the Lords of Avalon series. I can’t say anything more without a massive spoiler though 🙂

4. You have stated on many occasions that your characters speak to you or remain silent like Remi. Do you ever force them to tell their story to get where you want the story to be? I remember reading that you didn’t want to hear what Styxx had to say but he kept demanding to be heard. It’s amazing writing when you can cause readers to love a character we hated when you tell their story. I was emotional mess when reading Styxx and my little dog kept trying to comfort me when reading it.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Answer:
I’m so touched. I know, I hated Styxx, too, and now I love him, lots and lots.

No, I can’t force them to do anything. It’s like trying to get my cat off the printer. Any attempt to do so is not only futile, but results in me wrapped up in Band Aids and bleeding.

5. Do you have a clear roadmap for your characters that you stick to or do they morph as the story progresses? Example: In the Dark Hunter’s One Silent Night there is a brief glimpse of compassion from Medea that leaves the door open for her to rid herself of the distrust and hatred of humans.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Answer:
I let the characters fly. I’m telling their story and it’s all theirs and not mine. I never interfere and the whole reason I write is so that I can see where they’ll take me.

Shield of Winter is a great addition to Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series. I loved it! It is such an incredible paranormal series. I have been looking forward to the assassin, Vasic’s story since he was introduced and I was not disappointed. I really loved the heroine in this series as well. Ivy was willing to fight for not only herself, but for Vasic. This series is full of intrigue, passion, emotion, action and sizzling romance. The storyline and the futuristic world that Nalini Singh creates is just amazing and unique. If you haven’t read this series yet, I recommend you start at the beginning because it’s a complicated and detailed series that you should follow from the beginning to understand everything that is going on. I highly recommend this book and this series for paranormal romance fans. It’s a favorite of mine!

That miracle arrives on her doorstep in the form of a very buff, handsome man with a very strange name. Mordr wants nothing to do with a red-haired wench or children. Miranda wants nothing to do with a gorgeous hunk who claims to be a Viking.

As Miranda and Mordr give in to temptation, they must decide if they fit in each other’s worlds—before their enemies close in on them.

I love these Viking/Vampire/Angels and this book touched me more than the others. I loved Mordr’s tragic past and how Michael sends him to the one place that will test his control. Miranda and the children’s story was also touching and fun at the same time. They made a great couple and the romance was nice and steaming. This book had be laughing and then tearing up through the whole thing and I loved it. The VIK once again had me in stitches when they got together and as always, they were more than up for the danger surrounding them. A good read that will stick with me for a bit. I highly recommend this book and this series for paranormal lovers.

I loved Salvaged! Salvaged is the second book in Brenda Tetreault’s hot paranormal series, The Nightshade Series. Salvaged is Caius and Wren’s story. Caius first appears in the first book as a potential villain, but we find out why he is the way he is in Salvaged and I fell in love with him. As the son of Cupid, Caius has the ability to make any women fall in love with his and he uses this abilities by making it his mission to use and break as many hearts as he can after his own heart is broken by his wife, Wren. When they come back together it’s explosive. Their story is explosive, emotional, and scorching hot. Brenda Tetreault has created an exciting and unique paranormal world with this series and she is an author to watch. Caine, my favorite character in the series, is next and he will finally get his book with Gaela. Their story starts in the first book and continues throughout the series. I highly recommend this series for paranormal lovers looking for a sexy new paranormal romance series. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next book!

All through school she wrote, but put it aside when a school counselor informed her that, while she had a nice little hobby, she’d never be good enough at it to pay the bills. After a short stint in the Air Force, during which she met and married her husband, Brenda settled down to be a military wife and the mother of a precocious little boy. She began writing again in her mid-thirties, and in 2009 her first book, The Witcher Legacy: Book One of The Bounty Cove Chronicles, was finally published. Today, Brenda is enjoying a small amount of success, and has even managed to pay a few bills with her writing!

In 2012, Brenda completed her first paranormal romance series, The Bounty Cove Chronicles. She is currently writing on an entirely new series, and on September 23, 2013, ‘Tempted’, the first book in The Nightshade Series was published and released through Kindle Direct Publishing.

Darkest Flame is the first book in Donna Grant’s new dragon paranormal romance series, Dark Kings. I devoured it! Donna Grant created a sexy and exciting world of dragons who protect humanity. It kept me on edge and flipping the pages from start to finish. I loved Kellan and Denae’s story! Denae is a strong female character who changes the way Kellan feels about humans. Their chemistry together was explosive! Their story was filled with action, suspense, emotion and sizzling romance. I highly recommend this new series and will be anxiously awaiting the next book. I think the Dark Kings Series will quickly become one of my favorite paranormal series.
