She’s making a wish list, and he wants to be on top.

From foster kid to trophy wife, Tessa McAllen is about to reinvent herself all over again—and defy every insult her cheating ex-husband ever used against her: Selfish? She’s championing a charity. Stupid? She’s getting her degree.

Boring in bed?

Kade Vandergriff can help her with that one. When they encounter each other at a singles event held at one of his restaurants, Tessa blurts out that kink is for girls who try too hard, and Kade instantly wants to show this sassy stranger how thrilling a night under his command can be…but when he learns her name, the game changes for both of them.

In high school, Tessa was the popular girl who stuttering, awkward Kade fell for. But she chose another. Now, as she eagerly learns lesson after lesson, he’s going to make sure she never forgets him again.

20140314-155658.jpg
Wow! Hot! Tessa walked in her house to find her husband cheating on her with her best friend, and did what she knew was right. She hired an attorney and a bought a plane ticket out of town. Tessa’s friend Sam told Tessa that they needed a girls night out. Tessa soon found out it was a learning to cook and meet single men event. Tessa met Kade when her name wasn’t on the list for the event, and she sensed he was a man she could have one night of no pressure, amazing sex. She thought this might help her find herself again. What she found was Kade was into BDSM. A world Tessa knew nothing about, but intrigued her. Kade wanted to be her teacher.
Kade realized after their night together that Tessa was the same girl he tutored and fell in lust with in high school. After he shared this with Tessa he was scared she’d run, but he wasn’t sure if it would be into his arms or far away. Tessa was so drawn to Kade that she couldn’t have walked away if she wanted. The chemistry and sexy lessons kept me reading this book from cover to cover. The story covered parts of their past and their current relationship. I thought my hair was going to ignite more than once. I have never read Roni Loren and after this book I am on a mission to find and read all of her books.

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son.

If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars, er, rock concerts. Yeah, that’s it. She is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

It’s either true love…or the biggest mistake they’ve ever made.

Counting on Love, Book 4

Hot firefighter Cody Madsen has stayed away from Olivia Dixon for almost two years—technically. Even though he talks to her every day and sees her every weekend. But there’s no kissing, touching, or telling her how he really feels. Because they’re just friends. Anything more than that would mean crossing the line that Olivia’s older brother has firmly drawn between them.

Olivia wants what her three sisters have—true love. She could almost believe she’s found it with Cody, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s her older brother’s best friend and her brother won’t have it. And he’s never steered her wrong before. Her head is telling her to trust her brother, but her heart won’t let go of Cody.

Her solution? A dating site where she and Cody can each find their “Perfect Pick” once and for all.

But when the site yields some unexpected results, their real feelings come front and center. And they have to decide if it’s worth the risk to cross the line from friendship to love after all.

Warning: Contains a starry-eyed romantic, a wannabe knight in shining armor, and chocolate chip cookies. A lot of chocolate chip cookies.

REVIEW:

Going for Four is Olivia and Cody’s story. They were best friends for years and one night decided they were not allowed to drink together, they were not allowed to talk about sex with each other and most important was the no kissing each other rule. They both wanted to be together but didn’t want to risk their friendship. They both also knew that Olivia’s brother, Connor, would hate the fact that they were together. It was only a matter of time before Olivia and Cody couldn’t resist each other any longer, and after Cody accidentally saw Olivia naked that was all he could think about. Once they both let their guard down their chemistry was explosive. It was entertaining to watch Olivia and Cody get to know each other on another level. The sex was hot, but I felt too much of this book was spent avoiding each other and they spent too much time worrying about how Olivia’s brother felt. Can be read as a stand alone, but it is such a fun series and I recommend reading them all.

How far will a good girl go for the bad boy she loves?

Laney Holt is a preacher’s daughter. A good girl. Her only goal was to get married, have babies, and live happily ever after, just like her parents. Only that didn’t happen. The two people closest to her betrayed her, and Laney’s dreams came crashing down. Now she’s left with an empty space she doesn’t know how to fill. Until she meets Jake Theopolis, a daredevil with a death wish who has heartbreaker written all over him.

Jake has no interest in thinking beyond the here and now. All he wants out of life is the next rush, the next “feel-good” thing to keep his mind off the pain of his past. His latest rush? Showing Laney there’s more to life than being a good girl—and that going bad can be so much fun. Her only concern now is how she can ever hope to satisfy the wild side of a boy like Jake. She’s looking forward to trying. And so is Jake.

If you love The Wild Ones, you’ll be just as wild for M. Leighton’s Bad Boys series which includes Down to You, Up to Me, and Everything for Us.

20140227-202510.jpg
This is Laney and Jakes story and I absolutely loved it! Laney’s first kiss was from sexy Jake four years ago before she left town for college. Jake was the wild child in the area who drank, dated, and partied. All of the things Laney never did. She was the preacher’s perfect daughter. At least until she caught her fiancé cheating on her with her best friend. Laney returned to town to help settle Jake’s family estate. Jake never forgot about beautiful Laney and when she shows up he knows he will stop at nothing to have her. The attraction was obvious right away. The passion between these two nearly shorted out my kindle. Hot! Hot! Hot! Laney’s parents wanted her back with her fiancé without knowing the whole story. Jake didn’t think he was good enough to give Laney the life she deserved, but Laney knew no one would ever be able to measure up to Jake. Would their passion be enough? Grab a copy if you’re looking for a steamy romance. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

As the women in the Dirty Girls Book Club open each new selection of erotica, they also open up their minds to sexual adventure…

Lily Nyland married sexy bad boy Dax Xavier because he made her dreams come true—in bed and out. But after a decade of marriage, her helicopter bush pilot husband spends more time in the remote wilderness than heating things up in her bedroom. The best sex she’s enjoyed recently comes from the Dirty Girls Book Club’s erotic selections.

Still, when the club chooses Bound by Desire, Lily’s skeptical. As a family practice doctor and a fiercely independent woman, the theme doesn’t exactly resonate with her. But then Dax, home for the Christmas holiday, startles her by spicing up their sex life with naughty tricks that make her wonder if he snuck a peek at her book. Even more shocking, Lily finds herself turned on by their erotic experimentation. Kinky sex may be enough to rekindle the passion in their marriage, but can it restore the deeper bonds of love and trust?

REVIEW:

Great book and a different kind of romance. A married couple have to decide if they are enough for each other. Lily and Dax had been married for ten years. Lily and Dax focused on building their careers without realizing they had forgotten to focus on each other. Dax’s career kept him out of town for long periods of time. Lily spent the majority of her time at work, but had recently become part of a book club. Each month a member would pick a book and they would read it separately and discuss it. One month it was a book about BDSM. None of the members had read anything like it and Lily wasn’t anxious to get started. Dax came home for Christmas and decided it was time for him and Lily to talk and to figure out if their marriage was what each of them wanted anymore. Dax picked up Lily’s kindle and started reading the latest book club choice. This book got Dax thinking that maybe spicing up their sex life could help rekindle the magic they once shared. Lily and Dax spent a lot of time talking and experimenting about what they wanted for their future and if they wanted to be a part of each others futures. Would they learn to talk and trust each other again? Or was it too late? I enjoyed this steamy romance.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery returns to Blackberry Island with the poignant tale of two sisters on the verge of claiming their dreams.

Small-town nurse Nina Wentworth has made a career out of being a caretaker. More “Mom” than their mother ever was, she sacrificed medical school—and her first love—so her sister could break free. Which is why she isn’t exactly thrilled to see Averil back on Blackberry Island, especially when Nina’s life has suddenly become…complicated.

Nina unexpectedly finds herself juggling two men—her high school sweetheart and a younger maverick pilot who also wants to claim her heart. But as fun as all this romance is, Nina has real life to deal with. Averil doesn’t seem to want the great guy she’s married to, and doesn’t seem to be making headway writing her first book; their mom is living life just as recklessly as she always has; and Nina’s starting to realize that the control she once had is slipping out of her fingers. Her hopes of getting off the island seem to be stretching further away…until her mother makes a discovery that could change everything forever.

But before Nina and Averil can reach for the stars, they have to decide what they want. Will Averil stay? Will Nina leave? And what about the men who claim to love them? Does love heal, or will finding their happy ending mean giving up all they’ve ever wanted?

REVIEW:

This was a refreshing story! Nina has spent her entire life taking care of everyone else. Her sister, her mother, the family home and her mothers antique store. Nina thought she was happy with her career as a nurse and never stopped to think that she had forgotten her dreams until her high school sweetheart, Dylan, came back to town as a doctor to work at his father’s office. She always dreamt she would be a doctor, married to Dylan and would have children by now. They had broken up years ago, breaking Nina’s heart and she vowed to avoid Dylan, knowing it was a small island and it might be nearly impossible. Dylan wants to rekindle the deep friendship that Nina and him once shared. Her dream to become a doctor is within her reach and her friendship with Dylan keeps reminding her of the love they once shared. The family antique store stumbles on a rare painting that would give Nina the financial stability to focus on her dreams again, but she is not sure she trusts her instincts anymore. Evening Stars can be read as a stand alone book, but it is the third book in the series.

I love everything Jill Shalvis writes and Once In A Lifetime did not disappoint. The humor, romance and passion she created in this story captivated me. Aubrey is opening a new bookstore in Lucky Harbor and the store needs some work before her grand opening. Ben just might be the man for the job. From the moment these two see each other sparks fly, but neither of them are ready for a relationship. Before they knew what happened Ben was kissing Aubrey and it was hotter than either had expected. There was no way they were going to not see each other again. As the construction progressed so did their romance, but would a secret from their past destroy what they have? This book can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend the entire series. Once In A Lifetime is a great addition to the Lucky Harbor Series.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” she said. Once again he was close. Too close. So damn close. “At all,” she added, hearing with some alarm that her voice had softened. Everything had softened, at just his proximity. “Ever,” she whispered, and found her gaze locked on his mouth.

He had a really great mouth.

“I don’t want to talk, either,” that mouth said very seriously. And then he lowered his head. They shared a breath for a beat, just long enough for her to know what was going to happen and feel the anticipation swamp her.

Then he kissed her, deep and slow and utterly mesmerizing. His hands were firm on her back. Needing an anchor, she reached out and grasped his shirt and leaned into him. He was warm and solid, so very solid, emitting the kind of strength that she herself was a pint low on today.
Leaning in more, she felt his body respond.

Someone moaned. I did, she realized, swamped with the sensation of being wanted, even just physically. She took in the delicious taste of him, the feel of him, the sound of his very male groan when she stroked her tongue to his.

Things got a little hazy then. A lot hazy. She felt his hands move over her, melting her bones away. She touched him, too. Her hands wandered all over his body—and good Lord, what a body.

She had no idea how long they kissed—and kissed—but she didn’t think about stopping until she ran out of air. Breathing hard, she slowly opened her eyes and stared directly into his.
They’d heated. Darkened. And something else. He wasn’t looking so relaxed now. In fact, he was looking the opposite of relaxed. He looked…feral.

And she was his prey.

When our heroine finds herself down on her luck, none other than her hunky CEO boss steps in to rescue her, offering her temporary shelter at his ranch. Now, her boss is looking more appealing, and her friends can’t agree on whether she should sleep with him or not. Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I went to bed way too late because I just couldn’t put it down. This is Maggie Kaye’s debut romance novel and the first book in a new series. Chloe was planning her wedding only to discover her fiancé and one of her bridesmaids together. Chloe’s boss Garrett overhears Chloe telling her fiancé off and knowing she has nowhere to stay he offered her a her a room at one of his houses. Things heated up quickly between Chloe and Garrett, although they both tried to fight it until they just couldn’t fight it anymore. There was such passion between them. Their story was heartfelt and Maggie Kaye made the characters feel real. I loved reading their story and look forward to future books in the series.

When Maggie Kaye was in college, she and a friend attempted to write their first romance book. They actually never reached the writing part. Mostly, they lay in the sun, brainstormed, laughed, and snacked, typical behavior for young college students with short attention spans.
Maggie went on to earn a teaching credential in special education and a career in teaching. Although they never completed that first book, the desire to tell stories remained with her. Eventually, she took out a writing pen or in her case a notebook computer her hero (husband) bought her to pursue her dreams and wrote the end.
Today, Maggie lives in the Southern California with her husband, two children, and two cats that sometimes share the keyboard with her. She enjoys writing stories with plenty of heart, humor and a bit of steaminess.

PG 13 – Parents arrive morning after.
So Right with You Excerpt 1:

Garrett lay across Chloe like a tapestry, his arm across her back and his leg pressed firmly against her rear. It would have been a dream waking up next to Garrett if it weren’t for the realization that his parents and sister had arrived for their planned weekend. She could hear them moving around downstairs, talking. It was only a matter of time before they decided to climb the stairs and locate him.
“Shoot, shoot, shoot,” she muttered under her breath.
If they didn’t get a move on, there was a good chance his family would find the two of them in bed together.
Chloe gave Garrett one last lingering look.
“Garrett. Garrett,” Chloe whispered. When he didn’t respond, she gave him a hard shove to the shoulder.
“Ouch. What was that for?” His eyes cracked open as he rubbed the spot.
“Your parents are here.”
“What?” Garrett asked, scratching his head.
“I said your parents are here. They’re downstairs,” she muttered a little louder.
“My parents are here?” Garrett sat up, slowly taking in the situation.
“Yeah, and if you don’t want them to find us in bed, you’d better move.”
She gave him a look of frustration and another push that was harder than the last, practically sending him skidding off the mattress. She shot out of bed, grabbing jeans, T-shirt, and underwear from the dresser before running into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
“Jeez, Red. You were much nicer last night. So much for the afterglow,” he grumbled.
He heard the sound of voices coming up the stairs.
He had hoped for a repeat of what they had shared last night, some early morning delight. Instead, he had to make a quick escape to avoid being caught by his parents like a teenager with first lust. He gathered his clothes from the floor and crept out of the bedroom.
His parents and sister were rounding the curve in the staircase. His father was carrying the luggage, and his mother was behind him chatting incessantly. His teenaged sister was occupied with accessing her text messaging. Luckily, none of them had spotted him yet. He slid past the stairwell, raced to his room, skidded to a stop inside, and slammed the door behind him just as they reached the landing.
That was close. Too close.
Then he remembered.
They always stayed in the room Chloe was in.
“Damn.”

Shower Scene – Definitely R
Excerpt 2: So Right with You

Garrett arrived home. It was almost ten o’clock. Her car was outside but the house was quiet. He wondered where she was. He’d missed her. After taking Patches out for the last time that night, he went upstairs to shower. It had been a long day and he wanted to relax. Heading down the hallway with Patches at his heels, the distinct sounds of water running reached him. It was coming from the direction of his master bath. He quickened his pace. Reaching the bedroom, he looked at Patches, who had followed. “Sorry, boy, not tonight.” He closed the door between them.
She was home and in his shower. When he reached the bathroom, he could see her behind the glass doors. Stripping his own clothes quickly, he grabbed the knob to join her. Opening the shower door, surprised elation and desire swept through him.
Chloe was holding her breasts with one hand while touching herself with the other hand, obviously bringing herself to completion. The sight of finding her pleasing herself made him grow hard instantly.
*~*
Startled at the sound of the door opening, she dropped her hands, self-conscious at having Garrett find her in a private moment.
She couldn’t say what had prompted her to use Garrett’s bathroom, other than that she had been missing him. The woodsy, evergreen smell mixed with a scent that was solely Garrett to permeate his room. The next thing she had known, she was in his shower, using his products and fantasizing about him, which had led to Garrett walking in on one of her more embarrassing moments.
“Don’t stop,” Garrett said in a husky voice.
“I can’t.” She blushed.
“Please, for me?” His eyes pleaded. “You look so beautiful.” He reached into a drawer in the vanity and retrieved a condom. Coming into the shower, he pulled the door shut behind him.
Chloe trembled with nervousness at the thought of what he was asking of her. She had never satisfied herself in front of a lover before, not that she’d had that many, only Trevor and now Garrett. She released a nervous breath. She wasn’t sure she could go through with it. Looking into his eyes, which were smoldering with desire, she felt compelled to try.
Hesitantly, she reached back up to touch her breasts and stopped. Her nerves got the better of her. “I don’t think I can.”
Setting the condom down on the shelf, Garrett took her other hand and placed it over her mound. His gaze held hers while he began to move her hand through her folds with his hand on top. Realizing she had been holding her breath, she released it. It came out breathy. The water continued to pummel against them, making the sensations even more intense.
With Garrett directing her hand, her orgasm remained just out of reach. Taking control, she moved it to where her greatest need lay. “Here.”
“There, baby. Go ahead,” Garrett said, encouraging her to explore her own sexuality.
As she began to touch herself more deeply, Garrett released her hand and reached for the condom. She whimpered as she neared her completion.
She had no idea how powerful her own seduction could be. His body surged with a feral desire for her.
Her body arched as she neared an orgasm. He leaned forward, ready to take her when she came. At the pivotal moment, Garrett reached for her and kissed her hard on the mouth. Her mouth opened under the pleasure, and his tongue swept inside, connecting with hers. She moaned. When he was ready, he pulled back and roamed down her body, raining kisses on it as he went. Taking a nipple into his mouth, he sucked on it, bit it, and sucked on it again. He reached his hands down to grip her ass and lifted her onto his hard-on. She wrapped her legs around him. He thrust into her and she bowed back. He wedged her between his body and the hard tile. He eased out all the way and pushed in again.
“Oh, God! It feels so good.”
“I know, sweetheart.”
She moaned as he gripped her ass tighter and sank deeper into her. He thrust repeatedly, bringing them both to a fever pitch.
Reaching between their bodies, he massaged her clit until she rocketed over into an orgasm. He thrust into her a few more times until he exploded in his own release. He held her a moment, then slowly pulled out. She unwrapped her legs from around his body and slid them down until her feet reached the floor. He kissed her lips softly.

Using Music to Inspire Your Writing
For me, music plays an important part of the stories I write. First of all, I use songs to help me focus on the mind set of my characters. What are they thinking? It can help me push the plot along. They can even appear in the book. A few of these did. Sometimes, I use song titles to help me come up with the title for the book. In the end, I did not choose a song for the title. But along the way “So Right with You” did go through some title changes, including Her Secret Santa, Just a Kiss (Lady Antebellum) and More than a Kiss (Tommy Conwell). This last song was a great song for thinking about the mind set of Garrett. I still love it. Here is the playlist for Chloe.

Secrets of Writing Sex Scenes
Have you ever wondered how authors prepare to write those sizzling hot scenes in their novels? Where do they come up with their ideas? From personal experience, I can tell you it isn’t quite the scenario you might expect. When I wrote the first seduction scene in “So Right with You,” it was late at night. The mood was set with the TV on for background music, and Zombieland was playing. Yes, I wrote my first seduction scene to Zombieland. Now, you need to understand my teen daughter had informed me that she was the most sheltered child in the world, because her parents had not allowed her to watch a horror flick. She was the only kid in her class who had never seen a monster movie. I had asked her, “What do you want to see?” Her response was: “Zombieland.” That night, as I sat there surfing through channels for something to watch, I found it on, so I wrote my first steamy scene to the cult classic. You know, I was actually doing research on whether Zombieland was an appropriate movie for my teen daughter. I have to admit I was entertained by the movie, but there was no way in hell she was going to see it, not for a while anyway.
Now, that scene was a bit let’s say anti-climactic; basically no climax. The scene is in the book if you would like to read it. Anyway, I had to persevere in order to bring my fictional couple much needed satisfaction. So buckling down, I proceeded to write my first full-on sex scene. I sat on my sofa in broad daylight with again the television on for background noise and tried to write it. My problem with the scene was it was a bit messy, literally. My couples much to my disconcertion ran rue with my book and were engaging in hot, messy, sticky sex. I personally had a problem with this. I wanted to clean it up. Things were melting on the nightstand. After sleeping on it, I again took out my computer notebook and finished the scene. To really give my scene the push it needed, I gave myself permission to write freely and without embarrassment, well mostly. I reminded myself that the scene was not about me but was what Chloe, my heroine, would do. One little tidbit about me is that I tend to read what I write out loud as I do it. You can imagine how hard it was to write a scene like this with my two children in the house. I learned to whisper read quickly.
When the scene was finished to my satisfaction and of course my couples, I texted my neighbor to see what she thought. She arranged that night for her fiancé to take their young daughter out to the movies. Over wine and bottles of water, I read her my first sex scene. I think I did a good job. At one point, I looked up from fixing some typos and found her staring at me with what could only be described as sexual frustration. I stopped fixing my errors and finished reading the scene. At the end, she told me she was afraid when I asked to get her opinion on the scene that I was a bad writer and she would have to be put on the spot. My bad. I had never shared with her my work or that I was a writer before. And of course, I chose this piece to break her in.
So the secret about writing sex scenes is this: write it however it works for you and don’t allow your own embarrassment or thoughts about what you would or wouldn’t do hold you back. Just write it!

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

Suzanne Brockmann’s seamless blend of heroic military action and intense passion inspired USA Today to call her “a superstar of romantic suspense”—and for years her award-winning Troubleshooters books have been must-reads for fans of sizzling stories of action and adventure. Now the New York Times bestselling author shoots to thrill again with Do or Die, an electrifying new novel that is certain to win Brockmann new readers and delight devotees.

Navy SEAL Ian Dunn went rogue in a big way when he turned his talents to a lawless life of jewel heists and con jobs. Or so the world has been led to believe. In reality, the former Special Ops warrior is still fighting for good, leading a small band of freelance covert operatives who take care of high-stakes business in highly unofficial ways. That makes Ian the hands-down choice when the U.S. government must breach a heavily guarded embassy and rescue a pair of children kidnapped by their own father, a sinister foreign national willing to turn his kids into casualties. Shockingly, Ian passes on the mission for reasons he will not—or cannot—reveal.

But saying no is not an option. Especially not for Phoebe Kruger, Ian’s beautiful and unexpectedly brash new attorney. Determined to see the abducted children set free, Phoebe not only gets Ian on board but insists on riding shotgun on his Mission: Impossible–style operation, whether he likes it or not.

Though Phoebe has a valuable knack for getting out of tight spots, there’s no denying the intensely intimate feelings growing between Ian and Phoebe as the team gears up for combat. But these are feelings they both must fight to control as they face an array of cold-blooded adversaries, including a vindictive mob boss who’s got Ian at the top of his hit list and a wealthy psychopath who loves murder as much as he loves money. As they dodge death squads and play lethal games of deception, Ian and Phoebe will do whatever it takes to save the innocent and vanquish the guilty—or die trying.

REVIEW:

Wow! Loved it! I had never read Suzanne Brockmann so I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I found was complete alpha man Ian. Ian was a Navy Seal and is now on the public side of special ops. Ian was serving time working on the inside in prison when the feds show up offering him immunity for him and his family if he could pull off the con of a lifetime. What Ian didn’t expect was to be attracted to Phoebe, the attorney that was sent to represent him. Ian also didn’t expect a lawyer to have the charm, sense of humor and street smarts Phoebe had. I loved reading about the chemistry between these two. They both fought their simmering attraction. Several life and death situations made them wonder what would happen if they gave into it. This book was action packed and there was such a range of emotions throughout the book. I loved it and will absolutely read more Brockmann books.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

In this intense and exhilarating New Adult series debut, a hotshot snowboarder and a rebel with a cause try to let go of the past—and find a future with each other.

Twenty-one-year-old professional snowboarder Z Michaels is the bad boy of Park City, Utah. He’s always had his pick of any girl in town—and on the competition circuit. But underneath his cool exterior is a young man in turmoil, trying to take the edge off tragedy by overindulging in sex and shredding the slopes. In fact, Z’s rash behavior is a thinly veiled attempt to blunt his emotional suffering with physical pain.

Ophelia Richardson isn’t like any girl Z has ever met. Though she’s from New Orleans, she’s no Southern belle—and she’s not shy about being miserable in frozen, godforsaken Park City. But after nearly dying in the same drag-racing accident that killed her boyfriend, she needs a place to heal, both physically and emotionally. The last thing Ophelia wants right now is a boyfriend—especially one as rich and reckless as Z. But Ophelia soon discovers that he isn’t what he seems. If anything, Z may be even more damaged than she is.

Feeling alone in the world, Z and Ophelia find a connection unlike any they’ve ever known. But their tormented pasts pull them in every direction, forcing their relationship into a downhill slide before it even begins—unless they can find the strength in each other to trust, grow, and love again.

REVIEW:

In true Tracy Wolff fashion Shredded is another fantastic read. Z has the world in the palm of his hand. At least that’s what he wants everyone to think. He is barely existing with his horrible past weighing heavily on his mind. He has his pick of any of the snow bunnies on the slope. Once he spots Ophelia….she’s all he can think about. Ophelia knows his type and fights the desire to give in to his flirting. Ophelia is battling her own past and thought time working at the ski resort would help clear her mind. Before she knows it, Z is all she can think about too. Eventually in the story you begin to learn about their past and it is painful and emotional. I would have liked to have read about it sooner in the story, but it doesn’t take away from the book. This book is the first book in a new series and although the ending leads you wanting to read the next book, it is not a cliffhanger.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

In the picturesque town of Serendipity, New York, three siblings have grown up in the shadow of their proud and respected police chief father. But what do love, fate, and fortune have in store for the next generation of Serendipity’s finest?

Tired of being the easygoing daughter, always ignored in favor of her high-maintenance sister, and no longer interested in being her fiancé’s trophy wife, Nicole Farnsworth calls off her wedding. All she wants is to be herself. And where better to find her destiny than Serendipity? The place where she met the one man who made her heart beat faster, and gave her the courage to reinvent her life—even if he doesn’t know it.

Officer Sam Marsden calls Serendipity home and he loves it there—even though his childhood sweetheart was stolen by his best friend. After such heartbreak, Sam fears he can’t trust his instincts when it comes to love. Yet he’s so tempted by Nicole, a woman he met only briefly but who has starred in his dreams ever since. For Nicole and Sam, opening their hearts one more time could change their lives forever. But who’ll be the first to take that chance?

REVIEW:

This book was a feel good romance. Sam is a detective in a small town. Nicole is from Manhattan and was leaving her old life behind and moving to Serendipity. She was ready for all a small town had to offer. After breaking off her engagement it was time for Nicole to build a life that made her happy instead of a life that made her parents happy, and she was hoping to find this in this small town. Nicole had briefly met Sam when she was in town previously and she never forgot the spark he made her feel. Neither Sam or Nicole were ready for a relationship, but they knew they had to see where their attraction would take them. And maybe it would take them all the way to the top. This is a great series by Carly Phillips, but this book was great as a stand alone.
