Another great Black Knights Inc. novel. Through the series, Mac and Delilah have struggled with a long standing attraction and I loved how it finally exploded. This book is a fast paced and action filled thriller full of our favorite characters and their fun banter. The story flowed seamlessly and there was no way I could put it down. The romance was hot and sexy with enough tension to add another dimension to the danger surrounding them. I loved it and the only down side is I have to wait for the next installment.

A little about Julie…
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Julie grew up in a house full of women – she has three older sisters. As you can imagine, there was no lack of drama… or romance. Her mother enrolled her in a book club as soon as she began to read and it was the small spark that ignited her voracious appetite for the written word. Because of Julie’s early immersion in literature, she found writing came quite naturally. In high school, she won multiple writing contests and was the proud senior editor of The Tiger’s Tale – her school newspaper. During her college years, however, she longed for a challenge. “Reading and writing felt like second nature to me, so I looked for something to stretch my intellectual capabilities,” she recalls. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, Julie began teaching advanced high school mathematics. “I loved working with the students and facing the challenges of the classroom, but I longed for the occasional snow day when I could race to the local book store, buy two or three new novels, and curl up in front of the fire to read for an entire day.” It wasn’t until a fortuitous move to Chicago that Julie once more returned to her first passion. “Thankfully, my husband – my own personal hero – encouraged my decision to write full time.” Now Julie lives on beautiful Lake Shore Drive with a view that sometimes competes with her deadlines. I can’t get enough of Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity Series. It’s on my Top 10 List of favorite paranormal romances and the series never fails to entertain while also satisfying my need for hot alpha male heroes. Hunt the Darkness’s ultra sexy and possessive vampire is Roke. Roke is lead on an entertaining and dangerous chase by his mate, Sally who happens to be witch. This leads to conflict because vampire normally hate witches, but Roke can’t deny the mate bond with Sally and their chemistry is off the charts hot. I loved their story! Alexandra Ivy also included a lot of my favorite characters in this installment which included my favorite little gargoyle, Levet. If you’re a fan of the series then you’re a fan of Levet. He usually steals the scenes and keeps the reader laughing. This series is an exciting and sexy paranormal series filled with vampires, werewolves, imps, gargoyles, witches and more. I highly recommend the entire series, but each book can be read as a standalone. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

PROLOGUE

Styx’s lair
Chicago, IL

Styx was fairly certain that hell had frozen over.
Nothing else could explain the fact that in the past year he’d become the Anasso (King of all Vampires), moved from his dank caves into a behemoth of a mansion that contained acres of marble, crystal and gilt—gilt for christ’s sake—and mated with a pureblooded Were who also happened to be a vegetarian.
Then, as if fate hadn’t had enough laughs at his expense, he’d been in an epic battle against the Dark Lord which meant he’d been forced to make allies out of former enemies.
Including the King of Weres, Salvatore, who was currently drinking Styx’s finest brandy as he smoothed a hand down his impeccable Gucci suit.
Of course, if it wasn’t for the fact that their mates happened to be sisters, he would never have allowed the bastard over his doorstep, he pacified his battered pride. His own mate, Darcy, was very…insistent that she be allowed to spend time with Harley who was growing heavy with her first pregnancy.
Or was it litter?
Either way, Styx and Salvatore were forced to play nice.
Not an easy task for two uber-alphas who’d been opponents for centuries.
Settling his six foot plus frame in a chair that had a view of the moon-drenched gardens, Styx waited for his companion to finish his drink.
As always, Salvatore looked more like a sophisticated mob boss than the King of Weres. His dark hair was pulled to a tail at his nape and his elegant features cleanly shaved. Only the feral heat that glowed in the dark eyes revealed the truth of the beast that lived inside him.
Styx on the other hand, didn’t even try to appear civilized.
A six foot five Aztec warrior, he was wearing a pair of leather pants, heavy shit-kickers, and a white silk shirt that was stretched to the limit to cover his broad chest. His long black hair was braided to hang down to his waist and threaded with tiny turquois amulets. And to complete the image, he had a huge sword strapped to his back.
What was the point in being a badass if you couldn’t look like one?
Setting aside his empty glass, Salvatore flashed a dazzling white smile. A sure sign he was about to be annoying.
“Let me see if I have this right,” the wolf drawled.
Yep. Annoying.
Styx narrowed his dark eyes, his features that were too stark for true beauty tight with warning.
“Do you have to?”
“Oh, yes.” The smile widened. “You asked the clan chief of Nevada to babysit a witch you had locked in your dungeons?”
Styx silently swore to have a chat with his mate once their guests were gone.
He hadn’t intended Salvatore to know that one of his most powerful vampires had been magically forced into a mating.
Hell, he’d had a hard enough time divulging the info with Jagr, his most trusted Raven. It was only because he needed the vampire to do research that he’d revealed the secret.
A mating was the rarest, most sacred, most intimate connection a demon could experience.
To think for a second that it could be inflicted on a vampire against his will was nothing less than…rape.
You didn’t reveal that kind of weakness to your enemies. Even if you did have a peace treaty.
Darcy, however, was a genuine optimist who blithely assumed that Salvatore would never abuse privileged information.
Now Styx was stuck revealing the truth to the mangy mutt.
“Sally Grace was not only a powerful witch who was capable of black magic, but she worshipped the Dark Lord,” he grudgingly explained, not about to admit that it had been more habit than fear that had led him to lock the female in his dungeons. Sally Grace was barely over five foot and weighed less than a hundred pounds. She hadn’t looked like a threat. And she probably wouldn’t have been if she hadn’t been so scared. “Of course I wasn’t going to take any chances.”
“Why Roke?”
Styx shrugged. “I was busy trying to deal with the ancient spirit that was trying to turn vampires into crazed killers.”
Naturally Salvatore wasn’t satisfied.
“And?” he prodded.
“And the prophet had warned that Roke would be important to the future,” he muttered. He’d truly thought keeping Roke in his lair would protect him. Ah, the best laid plans of mice and vampires. “How the hell was I supposed to know Sally Grace was half-demon?”
Salvatore grimaced. “It must have been quite a shock to poor Roke to discover himself mated to a witch.”
Styx’s humorless laugh echoed through the library at the memory of Roke’s fury.
“Shock isn’t the word I’d used.”
“She’s lucky he didn’t kill her on the spot.”
Frustration simmered deep inside Styx. Roke might be an arrogant pain-in-the-ass, but he was a brother. And more importantly, he was a clan chief who had a duty to his people. They had to find a way to break the mating.
And how to make damned sure it never happened again.
“He might have killed her if the magic she used didn’t feel as real as any true mating.”
Salvatore’s amusement faded. “That bad?”
“Worse.” Styx surged to his feet. “Without her knowing who or what fathered her, the witch doesn’t even know how to reverse the damage.”
“You’re certain this isn’t some trick?”
“I’m not certain of anything beyond the need to find a way to break the bond.”
Salvatore poured another shot of brandy. “Do you have a plan?”
Plan? Styx grimaced. The closest they’d had to a plan the past year had been to charge from one disaster to another.
Why would this be any different?
“Sally left almost three weeks ago to search for any clues that would reveal who her father might be,” he said.
“And Roke?”
“He’s trying to catch her.”
Salvatore arched a brow. “You let him go alone?”
“Of course not.” A slow smile curved Styx’s lips. “I allowed Levet to go with him.”
Salvatore choked on his brandy at the mention of the tiny gargoyle who’d attached himself to both Darcy and Harley. Like a freaking barnacle that couldn’t be scrapped off.
A three foot pest with delicate fairy wings in shades of blue and crimson and gold, Levet could drive a sane man to gargoyle-cide in three seconds flat.
“You are a bad, bad vampire,” Salvatore murmured.
“I try.”

I’m not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother’s knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library.

Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.

Years later (no, I’m not admitting how many) I’m still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy.
For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!

I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.

Burning Dawn is the third book in Gena Showalter’s Angels of the Dark Series and my favorite book so far in the series! I absolutely loved it and rate it right up there with her Lords of the Underworld series which is one of my top 5 favorite paranormal romances. I liked the first two books in this series, but this one was off the charts. The scorching hot chemistry between the characters singed the pages. Thane and Elin’s story takes the reader along on their emotional journey and had parts that made my heart break for the characters, but also had parts that made me laugh out loud. Thane and his two best friends had me laughing whenever they got together. I absolutely can’t wait for the guys to get their stories! Elin and her girlfriends were so much fun too. I just love Gena Showalter’s writing style and this book was one of my favorites! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

BDB fans wait impatiently all year for the next book in this incredible series and The King did not disappoint! I loved it! Without giving too much away because these books are best read spoiler free we got to hear Wrath’s parent’s story and I completely fell in love with his father. We also got the side stories of three other potential couples. I’m looking forward to all of them. J.R. Ward announced at her signing that the next book will be titled The Shadows and will include Trez and iAm’s stories. I loved this second look at Wrath and Beth’s relationship, all the hotness that comes with it and their struggle with whether to have a baby. This series is so incredibly addicting and I think it’s because it’s emotional, action packed, suspenseful and incredibly hot. They always leave me wanting more and The King was no exception. I can’t wait for the next book!

I truly enjoyed the book and was unable to put it down. I don’t want to give too much away on the story but the intrigue and emotional situations had me tense one moment and relieved the next. Which is always a good thing. I loved Wrath’s father! I will however, go out on a limb and say that I almost wish she had written Wrath and Beth as a side story and focused on someone new. Or narrowed the number of side-stories down to just a few, so those stories could be told in greater detail. That being said, I laughed, cried and bit my lip on more than one occasion and I want to read it again soon. It’s a shame that we have to wait a year to see what happens to them all.

Wow! Blown away! I have loved this entire series and couldn’t wait for Conner’s book. He was the doting brother in the first four books in this series and I just knew it was going to be excellent. Conner had worked with Gabby for years and thought of her as one of the guys until one night a fire ripped through her apartment building. When Conner saw Gabby with an oxygen mask on her face and her barely there pajamas he was awestruck. Her pajamas showed Gabby was definitely not just one of the guys and she was clearly one smoking hot woman. Gabby was everything that he never looked for in a woman. Tall, brunette, smart and fiercely independent. Conner could think of nothing else and since he had a spare bedroom insisted Gabby stay at his place after the fire. Gabby had always had a thing for Conner, but she tried to avoid even thinking about it because Conner didn’t do relationships, and Gabby didn’t do one night stands. With the sparks flying between these two they knew they would have to come up with a compromise because there was no way they could keep there hands off of each other. Gabby was starting med school in two months, so they set an expiration date and about set the sheets on fire with the passion arcing between each other. As their time together nears the end, will they be able to stick to their original plan? Or will Conner and Gabby realize they need each other? I absolutely loved this book. It was funny, romantic, and there was amazing chemistry between the characters. This book can be read as a stand alone, but the series, Counting on Love, is such a fantastic series I recommend reading them all.

I loved Fire Inside! Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors. She always gives the readers hot, alpha men and lots of romance and she delivered with this book. This book is the second book in the Chaos Series and takes place after Motorcycle Man, which is the last book in the Dream Man Series. Lanie is Tyra’s best friend who is married to Tack, the leader of the club, and Hop is part of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. I recommend reading Motorcycle Man before this book to understand Lanie’s story. After losing her fiancé and almost dying herself, she is not looking for a relationship, but is attracted to Hop and decides to proposition him for a night of hot sex. They have an intense attraction and passion when they come together and after that one night, Hop decides he wants to keep her. He just has to convince her she belongs with him. Hop was not what I expected and really surprised me in this book. I loved him! This book was a little different then Kristen Ashley’s usual writing style, but I still loved it. Fire Inside was a hot, sexy, explosive romance that kept me captivated from start to finish. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.

Hop came out of the bathroom to see Lanie on her feet on the other side of the bed, panties on, hands twisted behind her back putting her bra on. Again.
He didn’t say a word. He prowled to her, reached out an arm the second he was close, yanked her to him and fell to his back in the bed, taking her down with him.
“Hop—” she started, pushing her weight against his arms, but he slid her off him then wasted no time rolling over her and pinning her to his bed.
“Sleep,” he ordered when he caught her eyes in the weak dawn. “After rest, I’ll get coffee, we’ll juice up, then round four.”
She blinked and breathed, “Four?”
“Got lots more I want to do to you,” he informed her and watched her eyes go soft, sexier, then her teeth came out to graze her lush lower lip, also fucking sexy, and her arms slid around him.
But she asked, “What about Tack and Ty-Ty?”
“I’ll make sure the coast is clear,” he told her.
“But they’ll see my car,” she told him.
“I’ll move it,” he offered.
Her hand slid up his back, around his shoulder, and then to his neck where her thumb moved to stroke him.
Her touch was light but, fuck, it felt good. He’d never had a woman touch him in an unconscious way like that, just a touch, a stroke, giving something that meant nothing at the same time doing it without thinking about it meant everything.
Shit.
Complicated.
“This is just supposed to be one night,” she reminded him quietly, but he saw it in her eyes. She didn’t even try to hide it. She’d bitten off more than she could chew.
He had too and he was nowhere near done eating.
She was cute. She was sweet. She was hot. She was better than he expected and he’d expected her to be pretty fucking good. All that wrapped in a package that gorgeous?
Yeah.
He was nowhere near done eating.
“Change of plans. A night and a morning and, maybe, an afternoon and, possibly, another night,” he amended, and her eyes got softer as her hand slid up to cup his jaw.
“I have to work,” she told him.
“Call off,” he told her.
“I can’t. I own the joint.” She explained something he knew, that she ran her own advertising agency. “And things are a bit crazy.”
Things were always crazy for Lanie. The woman lived crazy. She thrived on it. If there wasn’t crazy, she stirred it up because she couldn’t breathe without it.
“Babe,” he pressed his body into hers, “told you, got more I want to do to you.”

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. I love this trilogy! I’ve read the series, but I wanted to give the audible a try too since I love the story so much. Ryan Hudson, the narrator, does an incredible job telling this story! He has an amazing voice and the way he delivers the story in different tones of voice really draws you in and makes you feel the story. He makes me want to search Audible for every romance he has narrated and listen to them all. Jennifer Lyon created a sexy and heart-wrenching romance and Ryan Hudson’s narration makes the reader really feel the emotions of her characters and it’s all delivered in a sexy voice. Hot! I loved it! My reviews for each book in this trilogy are listed below. I highly recommend it. It’s a heart-wrenching, emotional, love story about too people overcoming their past. The Plus One Chronicles was on our 2013 Favorite Romances List, but it’s a story that is going to stick with me and not be forgotten.

Loved it! I’ve missed Jennifer Lyon! I loved her Winged Slayer Hunter series. This book is part of a new series she started that will be 3 books. The ending left me really wanting the next book! Sloane is a hot alpha hero that is an ex UFC fighter and he owns a chain of training facilities. I thought Kat was a great female character. She is learning to protect herself after surviving an attack in her past. She doesn’t want to be dependent on a man. These two have smoking hot chemistry when they come together! This is a super steamy romance with a great plot. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy romance book. I can’t wait for the next book!

I love this series! Possession is the second book in The Plus One Chronicles and picks up where the first book, The Proposition, left off. The series should be read in order. The Plus One Chronicles is full of drama, danger, mystery, and smoking hot romance. Sloane is the ultimate sexy alpha male and pushes past all Kat’s barriers in this book. I love them together. Not only do they have chemistry and passion that will leave you sweating, but Sloane helps Kat become stronger and to get past her fears while also giving her the skills to protect herself. They both have tragedies in their pasts that are coming back into their lives in this book. Most women want to use Sloane for his money, power and connections. Kat is the first plus one relationship he has had that only wants the man, and this is making him want to possess all of her. Jennifer Lyon makes you really feel and love these characters. I can’t say enough good things about this series. They have everything I look for in great books. Possession has an intriguing plot, great characters, danger, mystery and a great love story. I loved it and can not wait for the third book, Obsession, to be released in September. Jennifer Lyon is one of my favorite authors because she always delivers a great romance story and she definitely delivered with Possession. I recommend this book, and this series for anyone looking for a great story with lots of smoking hot romance.

Loved It! I have been impatiently waiting for Obsession to read the conclusion of Sloane and Kat’s story and I was left happy and satisfied after finishing the final book in this trilogy. I absolutely loved this trilogy! From the first book to the last we’ve seen Kat grow stronger and heal from her attack with the the training and support Sloane has given her. I loved that Sloane taught her to protect herself instead of just relying on someone else to protect her. We’ve also seen Sloane battle with his own past and loss and that all comes to a final decision in this book. Sloane and Kat’s passion and love grow binding them together throughout their story. Jennifer Lyon really made me feel for and love these characters. Heart-wrenching, emotional, suspenseful and filled with danger and passion. This trilogy is incredible! Obsession is the perfect ending for The Plus One Chronicles.

Another fun and exciting story that has a Honey-Badger mixing it up with a Grizzly-Tiger. I love those hybrids as you never know what to expect with Laurenston’s imagination! The plot’s crazy pace never let up and the hot romance blended nicely as always. I was happy to see some fun new characters working with those we have come to know and love. It was a wild and sexy ride, and I loved it.

REVIEW:

This book had it all for me, likeable characters, mystery, dangerous action and hot hot romance. I could not put it down even when my eyes got all teary. Drake is alpha all the way and strong willed Jasmine let him be when needed but still kept control of her life. They made a perfect pair right from the start and it just kept getting better. I love the way Ms. Eden includes the other people we have grown to love in the “Mine” world, while weaving in new and interesting ones. Without giving anything away, I thought the threat was exciting and I liked the twist that was added. This was one of those books that you wanted to see how it ended but didn’t want it to end. I can only sit back and wait anxiously for the next one. If you like high action with your hot romances, this is it.

REVIEW:

Ms. Tyler once again wove an exciting story for the Alpha Pack. I don’t want to give too much away on the twists of the story so all I will say is: The special ops team works so well together and in such a way that I wish I was one of them. Their easy banter makes me smile and the caring and respect they show one another is heartwarming. I liked Zan already and I am glad that I liked Selene too. They make a great couple and their smoking hot romance grew quickly and perfectly. The storyline was so exciting and action packed that I had to read it in one sitting. There was no way I was putting it down. The only problem now is that I have to wait for the next installment and it looks to be one that I am very anxious to read.
