I loved it! Temptation is a hot new adult romance between a sexy firefighter and a country star. It captured and held my attention from start to finish. I devoured it and want to read it all over again. Temptation delivered the heat and burned up the pages. I love Robin Coivngton’s writing style. She’s a must read author for me that I highly recommend for all romance lovers. You won’t be disappointed!

I couldn’t stop thinking about that kiss. How she’d tasted, how she’d felt in my arms. Despite the difference in our size, Kit fit perfectly against me—like she was made to be there. We had chemistry, alright. But that was all it was or would ever be.
“Excuse me, can you tell me where I can find Shannon Jones?”
The voice came out of nowhere and I lurched up, banging the top of my head on the edge of the fire truck door. Biting back the “fuck me” that could get me written up, I straightened, turned, and found myself looking right into the eyes of the woman I’d just been obsessing over.
Kit was standing there in my station, an expression of surprise and then concern on her face as she glanced to where I’d clonked the living shit out of myself just seconds before. She was wearing a low-cut, little blue sundress and cowboy boots and everything else was miles of bare skin and dark curls. My brain went mushy. Maybe I’d hit my head harder than I’d thought.
Her voice was full of concern as she moved closer. “Max, are you okay? I didn’t mean to sneak up behind you.”
I stared at her like an idiot. In person, I was reminded again of just how gorgeous she was. She walked towards me and I couldn’t move, couldn’t take my eyes off of her. If you looked up “dumbstruck” in the dictionary, you’d see my goofy-ass face pasted right next to it.
I still hadn’t answered when she stopped in front of me. Standing on tiptoe she touched my recent injury. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
Her voice was feminine, with a whiskey-edge that tied my gut up in knots. Her hand was cool on my over-heated skin and, as she moved closer, I could smell her sweet, summery, honeysuckle scent. All I wanted to do was pull her lush curves against my body, take her mouth, and find out exactly where this crazy chemistry would take us.
I definitely had a head injury because suddenly I realized that I had her close enough to do all those things and I wasn’t doing anything about it.
Get your shit together, Butler. Carpe the fucking diem.
I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards me, turning us so she was backed up against the door of the fire truck. She still held her packages in her hands and I missed the feel of her touch on my body, but I could work with what I had.
She stared up at me, her big, blue eyes wide with shock but mostly what I saw there was curiosity. She licked her lips and that was all the invitation I needed. I leaned into her, bypassing the prize of her mouth to press a kiss to her throat, just above the place where her pulse pounded against her skin. She was delicious all over, sweet and warm, and I wanted to drag her down to the floor and bury my cock inside her body for hours.
I looked down and realized that my hands were shaking, my breath as quick as hers—and I hadn’t even kissed her yet.
“When we fuck, it’s probably going to kill me.” It came out as a growl, as I tipped her face up to mine and wasted no more time in taking what I wanted.
Kit didn’t play games, no pretending that she didn’t want this, too. She opened to me, meeting my tongue more than halfway when I dove inside. She was as hungry as I was and the kiss was anything but the usual finesse I used on women. There was no slow seduction here. It wasn’t in my power to play games. I was at the mercy of whatever she would give me.
I slanted my mouth over hers, barely giving her a chance to take a breath before I went at her again like I was starving.
And I was famished. For her. It was the craziest thing I’d ever experienced, but I wasn’t going to let a little insanity stop me. It never had before.
I wrapped my arms around her waist, inserting my body in between her legs. The skirt of her dress rode up high on her thighs as I pressed my hard-on against the hot cleft of her pussy. I rolled my hips against her and she dropped the bags in her hands with a thud against the concrete, weaving her fingers into my hair with a pressure that brought a little pain with the pleasure.
I didn’t care. She could do whatever she wanted to my body as long as I got to do exactly what I was doing right now. As long as she let me do this and so much more.

If you take a trip to Scotland and you’re looking for your very own hot Highland wolf, here are some tips for taming one—whether he resists the idea or not.

Let’s start with a little inspiration from one of my favorite Highland wolves, Grant from Hero of a Highland Wolf, and see how his lady tames him:

What if she had kissed him and rubbed that sweet body against his in an attempt to heel him as she had the wolfhounds, only she didn’t even have to give him a treat to make him mind?

Put a big check mark in the ‘petting’ category for taming your shifter mate. My other tips:

1. Never be cowed. A sexy alpha wolf, Highland or otherwise, respects a woman with a backbone.

2. Show him you what you can do—in Hero of a Highland Wolf, Colleen Playfair has a way with dogs. I learned this from my daughter who was training her Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, and it gave me the idea about Colleen. Even with humans and their dog companions, the human must show he or she is the alpha of the family pack. So even if Colleen hasn’t mastered Grant or his pack, she can show she is capable of taking control of his unruly Irish Wolfhounds when nobody else is.

3. Take charge, and prove that you have what it takes to be in charge.

4. Compromise. Fight the battles that mean the most and then the lesser ones, shrug them off.

5. Show you’re compassionate about family values. Wolves love that.

6. Rescue one of his pack members. Now that is a sure way to win the hearts of every wolf in the pack, and who knows, it might even sway that big old alpha just a bit.

7. Show how much you love his home, just as much as he does. That you’re not just a visitor there, but someone who appreciates the real beauty.

8. Appreciate the good and the bad. Showing you can live with either, and deal with it satisfactorily proves you have what it takes to be an alpha leader. He’ll respect you all the more for it.

9. Take over his bed when you need to be closer to the bathroom. Try it. It’ll make him run, or well, you never know.

10. Have fun. If he’s all scowly and growly, don’t let it show that it bothers you. It’s really hard for someone to be that way when you’re having fun and everyone around you is enjoying your company. Either it will make him fold, or he’ll wish he wasn’t so stubbornly resisting the idea of having some fun with you too.

I loved it! Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark Series is one of my favorite paranormal romance series and I’ve been looking forward to Thronos and Lanthe’s story. Dark Skye is now one of my favorites in the series. It was filled with action, suspense, humor, and passion. It kept me on edge and flipping the pages until the end. Thronos and Lanthe’s love story was epic! A scorching hot and emotional story. I highly recommend this new book in this incredible series. Kresley Cole never disappoints and always leaves me anxiously awaiting the next book. One of the reasons I love her books so much is because when I pick one up I slip into another world and feel like I’m taking the journey with the characters. Not many writers can create that kind of experience for readers. If you haven’t read the series you should start at the beginning and if you’re a fan you’ll love Dark Skye. I can’t wait for the next book!

The first lash robbed her of breath.
The second granted her freedom.
If he’d go so far as to have her publicly flogged, she owed him no further loyalty. Any obligation remaining from their betrothal contact ended here, in this moment, with this lash.
Morally, she was free.
Now all she had to do was escape the bastard and make him pay.
As the second stroke landed, fire replaced the shock, and a hot slick of pain bloomed across her back. The coarse linen shift that a spying maid had forced her into provided no protection. It offered little modesty, either, from the uneasy crowd Kurt had gathered inside the castle gates to witness her punishment. She gritted her teeth and refused to cry out. A rough rope bound her wrists above her head to the flogging post. As her knees buckled, the binding made her perversely glad; she doubted she could stand upright on her own.

She’d seen the long leather strap when the stable master, shamefaced, had bound her with muttered apologies and handed the lash to a muscled groom more accustomed to cracking it around stubborn horses than using it to beat highborn ladies. Now she could barely feel the individual strokes as they landed, only the waves of hot agony clenching her back and shoulders in a vise grip of pain.
Through the red haze blurring her vision, she saw Kurt standing nearby. Next to him, his sanctimonious toady minister prattled the Bible proverb of the virtuous wife whose price was far above rubies. The gleeful, twisted pleasure Kurt took in her pain radiated off his stork-like form like a sickening stench. She bit down on her lip and gathered her hatred of her fiancé like a babe to her breast.
It was all she had left to get her out of this hell.
When Kurt finally held up a hand to signal the groom to cease, her labored breath echoed in the silent crowd. She knew the townspeople didn’t approve of the public beating their prince had commanded for his foreign betrothed. No more than they believed his story that she’d agreed to a religious flagellation in humble preparation for becoming his pious and obedient wife. But Prince Kurt von Rotenburg-Gruselstadt ruled the castle and town with an iron fist. None would risk their lord’s wrath to stand up for her.
Kurt stepped to the front of the dais. “Lady Lenora bears her trial most nobly,” he announced to the crowd. “Her embrace of her suffering does honor to a bloodline that unites the highest noble houses of England and Germany.”
That bloodline, she knew well, was why he’d chosen her. The prig made no secret of his disdain for any born below the upper aristocracy. The Holy Roman emperor himself, Kurt often delighted to inform her, had conferred the title of Prinz upon the House of Rotenburg-Gruselstadt in the previous century. Her own background had led the matchmakers to judge them a perfect pair: her father’s ancient ducal title intermingled, like that of so many English peers these days, with noble blood from her Prussian princess mother.
No one had thought to mention that her fiancé had the temperament of a petulant demon on a bad day in hell.

I loved the pulse pumping action and danger that was thrown at them throughout the book. I did get confused at times as to why she was still a target, but then I got immersed in the story and it no longer mattered. The romance was hot and sexy and flowed nicely with the story. I would have scored it a 5 but I wasn’t thrilled with the word descriptions at the beginning of the chapters and the insertion of old e-mails seemed disjointed with the story. I look forward to the next Deadly Ops book.

Aven Ellis has been writing fiction since she was sixteen. She studied communications at a large Midwestern university, and after graduation, Aven worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, followed by a stint at a public relations agency.

But writing about city council meetings and restaurant franchises was not as much fun as writing for young women trying to figure out their careers and potential boyfriends. So Aven got herself a job in television that allowed her to write at night. Connectivity is Aven’s debut novel. Waiting For Prince Harry was published in April 2014.

NEW SERIES ALERT: The Bourbon Kings by J. R. Ward

I originally posted this info on Facebook 7/27 but didn’t post it to the blog. First info came from a Facebook post on J.R. Ward’s page saying, “I’m writing book one of my new series, The Bourbon Kings, right now- and then starting Trez and iAm’s book September 1! IMMORTAL, the last of the Fallen Angels series, comes out in October so get ready for Jim’s final battles!”

I immediately went into fangirl mode, searched the internet and then emailed Berkley/NAL contacts. I got confirmation from Berkley that the books are theirs and the news showed up 7/28 in a Publishers Weekly article.

The globe-trotting action was non-stop in this romantic suspense novel. I liked the storyline with all its twists and turns. It kept you wondering and engaged. I just wish Jenny and Nick’s relationship and feelings pulled me in more. It seemed like they had sex due to opportunity and not heartfelt desire. That beings said, I did enjoy the ride.

Richart stumbled backward and wrapped his arms around the woman to keep her from falling.

Clinging to the front of his shirt, she buried her face in his chest. “Is he gone?”

Her Immortal Guardians novella In Still Darkness was released in the Predatory anthology on May 7, 2013, and has received many fabulous reviews. Darkness Rises, the fourth book in the series, hit the USA Today Bestseller list, has been nominated for the RT Reviewers’ Choice Award for Best Vampire Romance by RT Book Reviews and was deemed a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick.

Dianne has also completed two not-yet-published paranormal romance novels that are prequels to Darkness Dawns. A Sorceress of His Own is a medieval romance with paranormal elements that won awards in the Lone Star, Where the Magic Begins, Southern Heat, Picture This, Book of Your Heart and Suzannah national writing competitions. Rendezvous With Yesterday is a time travel romance and won second place in the Picture This writing contest.

In addition to writing romance, Dianne has completed a one-act play (comedy) and teamed up with an award-wining screenwriter to write a spec script for a new situation comedy. Several of her poems have also been published in anthologies.

When she isn’t writing, Dianne is very active in the independent film industry and once even appeared on screen as a machete-weilding maniac not unlike the vampires she so loves to create in her novels.
