I love this new series! HOW TO TAME A BEAST IN SEVEN DAYS is the first book in Kerrelyn Sparks’ new series, The Embraced. Kerreyn Sparks created an exciting and unique new world full of magic, dragons, shifters and ghosts. It’s full of action, danger, romance and suspense. I loved the main characters and I can’t wait for the secondary characters to get their own books. I’m obssesed with this series now! I highly recommend this new series for paranormal romance lovers looking for something exciting and unique. I’m hooked!

I love this new series! It’s filled with ongoing suspense and tension then sexy hot romance, and relatable people that you want to spend time with. The writing kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. Madison was easy to like and her reaction to things was believable, even when she made me groan. Alex? I’d sure like to meet an Alex! He is sweet and smoldering all at the same time, which makes for fun reading. I look forward to reading about his brothers and how things pan out for them, it should be fun.

I loved this story. Emerson was someone I could relate to, and care about right away. Hunter? How can you not swoon over a bighearted, romantic and handsome man? He was the perfect person to help Emerson on her emotional journey. His family was so real, that I can only hope we hear more about them in later books. The writing was smooth and the story flowed nicely. I honestly couldn’t put it down, so I could see how things worked out. It wasn’t just a sexy little romance, it was a love story that warmed my heart.

(The setup is that heroine Emerson has just come back to her hometown of Millhaven after twelve years and is working as a physical therapist)

“I’ve got a patient for you, so I thought I’d pop over to see if you have an opening today,” Doc Sanders said.

Emerson thought of her schedule, complete with the tumbleweeds blowing through its wide- open spaces, and bit back the urge to laugh with both excitement and irony. “I’m sure I can fit someone in. What’s the injury?”

“Rotator cuff. X-rays and MRI are complete, and Dr. Norris, the orthopedist in Camden Valley, ordered PT. But the patient is local, so I figured if you could take him, it’d be a win-win.”

“Of course.” An odd sensation plucked up Emerson’s spine at the long-buried memory of a blue-eyed high school boy with his arm in a sling and a smile that could melt her like butter in a cast-iron skillet. “Um, my schedule is pretty flexible. What time did he want to come in?”

“Actually, he’s a little anxious to get started, so he came directly here from the ortho’s office . . .”

Doc Sanders turned toward the hallway leading to her waiting room, where a figure had appeared in the doorframe. Emerson blinked, trying to get her brain to reconcile the free-flowing confusion between the boy in her memory and the man standing in front of her. The gray-blue eyes were the same, although a tiny bit more weathered around the edges, and weirdly, the sling was also a match. But the person staring back at her was a man, with rough edges and sex appeal for days, full of hard angles and harder muscles under his jeans and T-shirt . . .

Hunter Cross.

Emerson stood with her feet anchored to the linoleum, unable to move or speak or even breathe. For the smallest scrap of a second, she tumbled back in time, her heart pounding so hard beneath her crisp white button-down that surely the traitorous thing would jump right out of her chest.

A blanket of stars littering the August sky . . . the warm weight of Hunter’s varsity jacket wrapped around her shoulders . . . the warmer fit of his mouth on hers as the breeze carried his whispers, full of hope . . . “Don’t go to New York. Stay with me, Em. Marry me and stay here in Millhaven where we’ll always have this, just you and me . . .”

“Emerson? What . . . what the hell are you doing here?”

The deeper, definitely more rugged-around-the-edges version of his voice tipped the scales of her realization all the way into the present. She needed to say something, she knew, she knew, but her mouth had gone so dry that she’d have better luck rocketing to the moon in a paper airplane right now.

“I work here,” Emerson finally managed, the truth of the words—of what they meant—delivering her back to reality with a hard snap. She hadn’t returned to Millhaven for a jaunt down memory lane. Hell, she’d only come back when her process of elimination had dead-ended in total despair. She was here for one thing, and one thing only. To bury herself in as much work as her body would allow.

Even if her first client probably hated her guts.

I enjoyed this installment in the Ghostwalker series, especially as it delved into Ezekiel’s life. I’m glad to have liked Bella right away too. The author could have given her a harder edge, but she didn’t. She made her unique, yet relatable, with a teasing sense of humor. Their first real encounter was cautious, but so darn sweet, that I couldn’t stop smiling. She and Zeke blended well and developed into a smoking hot romance. It was fast paced, smoothly written and full of nail-biting moments that kept me reading. On top of all the action, you have the banter and humor of the group and the lovely Nonny holding them all together. I loved it.

Her face was stunning. Wide smile. White teeth and a good deal of them. Big eyes. Elegant nose. Soft cheekbones. All of this she highlighted with the expert use of makeup from what was clearly a gift of superior genes into something that shone like a Hollywood starlet.
A starlet of a stripper who looked a good deal like Dolly Parton, who also likely got home the night before, earliest, three in the morning, and was right then, only hours later, back on the stage helping another girl by teaching her some moves.
“Marcus, brother,” Smithie’s voice came at him. “You got a problem with the way I do business, and I give you reason to have that problem, then we have a talk. I don’t give you that reason, we don’t have conversations like this one. That’s our deal.”
Marcus listened to him while he watched Daisy talking to the other girl and then she ran across the stage, doing it gracefully in platform sandals, her stone-washed jeans tight on her ass and hips and all the way down her legs. Still, after she ran the four steps, she launched herself high, grabbing on to the pole at least three feet higher than she was, her body swinging around by just her hands.
When the swing ended, she climbed up the pole, hand over hand. Doing this quickly, taking herself up another four feet, she flipped her bottom half over, wrapping her skinny legs around the pole. She dropped back, her hair flowing down, and with her only hold on the pole being her legs, she arched her back and slid down slowly, somehow circling the pole as she did it.
She ended this doing a layout with her hands on the floor, her legs in slow and controlled movements coming over her head one after the other. Her hands pushing off, she was up.
Standing straight with perfect posture.

Cori 5 StarsI loved it! If you’re fan of Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick Series you already love Daisy and you’ve been asking for her book. I was so excited when it was announced. ROCK CHICK REAWAKENING is a prequel to the Rock Chick Series featuring Daisy and Marcus. You don’t have to read any of the other books before picking this one up. Daisy and Marcus are included throughout the Rock Chick Series and I was kind of already obssesed with Marcus but I seriously loved him after reading this book. I cried, I laughed, I fanned my face and I sighed happily. Daisy and Marcus’s story was emotional, heartbreaking and really hot. It was just a beautiful love story and it’s now one of my favorite Kristen Ashley books. I’ll end up rereading it over and over.  I highly recommend this book and any other Kristen Ashley book for romance lovers. The Rock Chick Series is one of my favorites and if you haven’t read any of Kristen Ashley’s books this one would be a great one to try out.

 Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing’s changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

I was hesitant as I began to read this installment. The ghost aspect just isn’t my thing, but I am so glad I kept reading. I loved it. Rawl was the perfect one for this idea because his reactions were realistic as was relationship with Faith. For her part, I wish she had been a little more trusting because a few times she came across as condescending. But that did not take away from the story or the hot romance. All the ST7 members were together and in the thick of battle and intrigue that they do so well. I do enjoy how they interact with each other. And oh boy I love where the series is going with the Shadow Mountain addition. I hope the next installment comes soon because I can’t wait to see what happens next.

About the Author

Trish McCallan was born in Eugene, Oregon, and grew up in Washington State, where she began crafting stories at an early age. Her first books were illustrated in crayon, bound with red yarn, and sold for a nickel at her lemonade stand. Between the edge of my seat action and the hot romance, I couldn’t put it down. Maddy was made for Bran and it was fun watching her prove it to him amidst all the chaos. Overall it was fun and made me so anxious for the next one.

What a fun and fast paced story! I loved Julie’s inner thoughts as she found herself in a reality she didn’t believe, and it was fun to listen in on Mark’s human trying to control his grizzly. This is a shifter romance but it has little things that make it unique, and I appreciate that. The book had intense scenes mixed in well with humor and sexy romance. It checked off all my wants in a book and I can’t wait for the next one.

I enjoyed this riveting who-done-it mystery/romance. Lucas and his security team have the type of camaraderie that I love and the fact that they’re all hot and sexy adds a lovely layer to their story. Mia is a self-confident woman who thankfully never went into the witchy zone. They made a great couple in this hot romance. The mystery and danger that surrounded her kept me guessing and turning the pages as fast as I could. I loved it and can’t wait for the next installment.

I absolutely loved MOONSHADOW! This is the first book in a new Trilogy set in Thea Harrison’s Elder Races World. You don’t need to read the Elder Races Series before starting this one though. I’m so excited about this new series! It’s the same feelings I had after I read DRAGON BOUND. You want to tell all your friends to read it and then re-read the book immediately because you’re jealous they’re reading it for the first time. I loved Sophie and Nikolas together. MOONSHADOW was unique and exciting with smoking hot romance. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to see who the next book features. I want stories for a couple of the guys. Ack! I can’t wait! I highly recommend this exciting new paranormal series. I’m hooked and addicted already.
