Five years ago, Aegis Security op manager Marley Addison’s lover died in a South American raid gone horribly wrong…or so she thought. When she receives a phone call telling her that he is still very much alive and in danger, she vows to bring him home safely, even if Aegis CEO and former Navy SEAL Jake Ryder has kept her out of the field for the last few years. Then Jake shows up in Colombia to help her, leaving Marley annoyed…and more than a little distracted by her alarmingly handsome boss.

As things between Marley and Jake heat up in the wilderness, they discover their rescue mission is filled with treachery. Now the domineering Jake has to rely on Marley for survival. But can she depend on him when their mission takes a shocking and deadly turn?

image

I dove into this story right away and loved Marley’s attitude and personality. The action flowed well with some real twists and turns. One part was a little improbable but that was part of the enjoyment and the catalyst to the hot and steamy romance with Jake. If you’ve read my reviews then you know I don’t care for long drawn out “I want you, I don’t want you” stuff and this book carried that through the whole thing. It got on my nerves but not enough to quit reading. I just had to find out what happened. I am looking forward to the next in this series.

Paul Cunningham has eluded many traps in his long career as a Navy SEAL, but there’s no way out of this one. On a rare visit home, he gets “volunteered” for a local charity bachelor auction, and the community is counting on him. Then he discovers that the sexy she-wolf with the winning ticket is Lori Greypaw—the one woman he could never resist. And she has plans for Paul that go way beyond a simple date. For the first time in his bachelor life, this alpha wolf SEAL is going to have to prove his worth…

What’s your favorite thing about being a wolf-shifter?

Too many reasons to count. But we have a real advantage in the senses’ department. It really helps with my job.

image

This was a fun light paranormal romance with just enough danger to add to the story. I liked that it revolved around an alpha SEAL team member realizing that home is where he needs to be and the fun pack members waiting for him. I wish it had a little more fire but it was a nice contemporary romance revolving around wolves and a pleasant read.

Allan was next up, and the bidding was going strong as he got into the fun of the auction, flexing his muscles and smiling brightly.
“Way to go, SEAL!” Lori and Rose shouted.
“Take off your shirt!” Emma shouted.
Catherine whooped and whistled. Paul had to smile at Emma and Catherine.
Lori’s face reddened a bit, probably because her own grandma had shouted out the recommendation.
Allan began unbuttoning his shirt slowly and the crowd went wild.
Paul laughed. He hadn’t thought that a honey-do bachelor auction would be anything like this. Then again, Emma was a wolf and they could change the dynamics of a situation in a heartbeat. The ranch hands made a big deal of jerking their shirts out of their waistbands and then starting to unbutton them.
A woman shouted, “Just the shirts, gentlemen.”
And that had everyone laughing.
Stripper music began to play, and Paul removed his shirt to the beat like the others did.
Clapping hands, wolf whistles, and shouts indicated the women were just as excited to bid for the SEALs as they were for the cowboys.
Paul tossed his shirt to Lori for safekeeping. When she grabbed the shirt and held it close, he smiled at her.
Allan went for two hundred and fifty dollars to a lady wearing a pink cowboy hat…

New York Times bestselling author Katie Ashley revs up the danger and sexual tension in her brand-new Vicious Cycle romance series.

Deacon Malloy’s life is dedicated to the Hells Raiders motorcycle club. Tough, hard, and fast with his fists, he serves the group as sergeant at arms. But his devil-may-care approach to life is thrown for a loop when the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed lands on the club steps.

Alexandra Evans is devoted to all her students—but there’s always been something about Willow Malloy that tugs at her heart. There’s an aura of sadness about her, a girl in need of all the love Alexandra can give. When Willow stops coming to school, Alexandra’s search leads to a clubhouse full of bikers…and a father hell-bent on keeping his daughter always within sight.

The moment Deacon sees Alexandra, he has to have her in his bed—and he’s never met a woman yet who couldn’t be persuaded. No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.

I liked this book, but I didn’t love it the way I thought I would. I put off writing the review because I’m not sure how to explain that it’s a good book, but there were parts I just did not like. I’m a huge fan of biker romances, but this one just didn’t meet my expectations. I think the next book will be better because I loved Reverend in this book. He was more likeable than Deacon, the hero in this book. I will say I think some of you will still love Vicious Cycle. I’m rating it 3.5 Stars because it held my interest, there were parts I enjoyed and I’m looking forward to the next book. I won’t get into the parts that I didn’t like because it would give away some of the story. Overall I liked it, I didn’t love it but I think some of you will. Not my usual kind of review, but I was conflicted about this one.

Tryst is a fun and sexy new adult romance. Alex Rosa delivered a great story with characters that draw the reader into their story. It’s a quick read and the story held my attention. I loved Blake. He’s a cocky manwhore, but he’s fun and likeable.  Skylar moves in with her brother after escaping an abusive relationship and Blake is her brother’s off limits roommate. I loved their interactions together and the growth of the characters throughout the book. Their chemistry was off the charts and the romance was hot when they got together. I recommend this book for new adult romance lovers looking for a fun and sexy read this summer. I’ll be keeping an eye out for Alex Rosa’s next book! She’s a new author to watch.

I enjoyed this book and the series looks to be a good one. I wish it had some romance or sex or something more than just the possibility of it, it was not a romance. The lack of any romantic aspects could be because no one trusted each other and with good reason too. This book has me torn but the fact that I kept reading to see what happens was enough for me to give it the score I did.

The scar was thin and pink, and it puckered slightly. It tore through his lower lip in a downward pull, and continued diagonally over his chin where it disappeared into the wreckage of his burned flesh. A paramedic finally jogged to us from around the block, but I didn’t recognize him. He was tall and lanky and very young looking—even younger looking than Nathan, which was hard to accomplish—but thanks to Nathan, I knew all too well that young looking didn’t translate to incapable.

As the paramedic approached, he absorbed the scene; his eyes flashed over the victim’s body and his surroundings, and eventually, his gaze locked on my hand holding the victim’s elbow. I resisted the urge to pull my hand away.

“Detective Wahl said you called in a burn victim.” The paramedic snapped on a pair of latex gloves.

I nodded. “Yes, that’s what it looks like.”

The paramedic knelt next to us, hovered over the victim with his ear over the man’s mouth, and trained his eyes on the man’s chest. He pressed two fingers on his charred neck. I winced. After about fifteen seconds of concentration, the paramedic straightened and sat back on his haunches.

“What the hell is this?” he asked. He didn’t make any moves toward actually opening his equipment case. “We have live victims that need tending at the main crime scene.”

I didn’t like his tone, and on a normal night, I would react with a blast of attitude. My short-person syndrome wasn’t becoming any milder through the years. If anything, turning thirty had completely eliminated my ability to tolerate most people. But this wasn’t a normal night, so I played nice and swallowed my temper.

“Yes. Greta did mention that you were busy,” I responded civilly.

“I appreciate you coming away from the main crime scene to tend to this victim.”

The paramedic shook his head. “This man’s dead. You’ve got to return to the police barrier with the rest of the media.”

The anger I’d doused flared in a sunburst. I took a deep breath against the words I wanted to say and spoke through clenched teeth, “This man is still breathing, and I’m farther behind the police barrier than any of the other reporters. I think I’ll stay where I am.”

“You know the drill, Miss . . .”

The paramedic waited for me to finish his sentence, but I just stared right back. Let him finish his own damn sentences.

He cleared his throat. “Look, I’m needed back at the scene, so if this is all you called me here for, I—”

“Are you going to help this man or not?” I finally snapped.

The paramedic stared at me like I was insane. “I told you; this man is dead.”

I blinked at him and then down at the man whose elbow I was still holding. After a moment of silence, I heard it—a faint rattling exhale from a man who didn’t have a nose to exhale with anymore. I shook my head. “He’s been making noises. He’s struggling to breathe.”

The paramedic crouched to listen again with his ear over the man’s mouth. He placed his index and middle fingers over the man’s raw neck for a second time, but after another fifteen seconds of concentration, the paramedic shook his head.

“The man is dead. He’s probably been dead since before you found him.”

“No, I’ve heard the noises. It’s like a strained exhale that—”

The paramedic straightened away from the victim and placed his hand on my shoulder. “They do that sometimes.”

I narrowed my eyes on his hand, and he pulled away.

“This man does not have a pulse,” he said, sounding defensive. “He’s dead.”

A rattle hissed from the man’s chest again, louder than before. He didn’t sound dead. He sounded in pain.

“Listen, I’ve got to get back to the scene, and I suggest you do the same before the police extend their boundaries and catch you tampering with their evidence.”

I pursed my lips. “No problem. Where do we take him?”

“We’re saving cleanup for the day shift,” he said, already walking away. “We’ve got to get the wounded to medical as fast as possible, which means leaving the bodies for later, once the police finish processing the scene.”

“Wonderful,” I muttered, not appeased in the least. My story needed to be submitted by midnight; I had less than two hours until the paper was put to bed. It felt wrong to just leave, but deadlines were deadlines. I squeezed the man’s elbow gently before letting go.

I hoped the paramedic was right. I hoped the man was dead long before I stumbled upon him, and that he’d found a better place than this.

I liked the story, but it lacked depth and was rather short. I would consider this a novella more than a novel but it did manage to tie up a few loose ends and deliver information that is sure to be in future books. I just think Jon would have warranted something more especially since he found such a fun mate. I have to add that I loved the Grandma. Overall I did enjoy it and hope that future books aren’t so short.

The second novel featuring small New England town of Harvest Cove, where the residents know that Emma Henry likes things nice and orderly—but everyone has to let loose sometimes…

A pleasant contemporary romance set in a small town.  Emma and Seth both have issues from their past that make them cautious but Emma’s seemed a bit of a stretch for me.  I loved Seth and did enjoy their blossoming relationship once she relaxed a bit.  The romance part was nice and warm and not too graphic.  Emma does something toward the end of the book that made me not care if she got her happily ever after but I wanted Seth to get his.  He’s a very understanding man and I was glad he found his forever.  I like Ms. Castle’s writing style and look forward to her next Harvest Cove book.

I nice romance about two strangers finding just what they’ve been searching for but afraid to admit it. I expected to have it full of a rock star’s life, but it was more about two people in the snow covered mountains and I loved that. It helped that I liked them both and enjoyed their interaction. The local color of the small community was realistic and fun, a nice addition to the story. The ending seemed a little rushed, but not enough to bother me too much. I needed an escape and I found it in this book.

Christa Maurice is a serial obsessionist, but she has been obsessed with rock stars from early childhood when her older brother started randomly quizzing her on rock trivia. How many first graders know who the headliners were on the Black and Blue Tour? Christa did. (Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult.) In college she harnessed that intellect to spend lecture classes writing about the adventures of Touchstone in the margins of her notebooks. Now, thanks to an iPad, she can do the same thing more effectively during staff meetings and everybody thinks she’s taking notes.

When not listening to music and/or writing, she enjoys traveling, reading and science fiction. She liked to play a personal game of six degrees with television and movies (Amanda Tapping was a regular on Supernatural, before that she starred on Stargate SG-1. Marina Sirtis did a guest appearance on Stargate, but before that she starred on Star Trek: The Next Generation. All so on Star Trek was Colm Meaney. The man who played at her wedding went to school with Colm Meaney.) Yes, she probably should get a life, but at the moment she is living on and oasis in the middle of the desert in a place that is so very like Tatooine that she frequently expects to see banthas and sandpeople coming up over the dunes.

It’s a love story between a casino cocktail waitress and a sexy casino CFO. I loved Sebastian, the ultra alpha Dom. Aria and Sebastian’s chemistry burned up the pages and their fast journey to love was fun to read. I do think Play Me should be a single book instead of broken up in to parts and the ending felt a little rushed. I would have liked a little more of their story. Overall this is a hot romance that I recommend. I enjoyed it.

Release Day Exclusive Sneak Peek at PLAY ME featuring a cameo with Ethan Frost from the NYT Bestselling RUINED and ADDICTED!

“What are you thinking?” Ethan asks after a minute and I’m just opening my mouth to tell him when there’s a sudden commotion at the door. I turn around just in time to see Aria burst through it, looking wilder and hotter than I’ve ever seen her.
She’s dressed in a crimson sundress that hugs every one of her curves even as it makes her olive skin glow. One of the straps has slid down her arm and her hair is a just-rolled-out-of-bed mess. But it’s a captivating look on her, one that has my mind flashing to about a million different things I’d like to do with her—all of which start with plopping her firm, lush ass on my desk and burying my face between her thighs. For hours.
I’m so distracted by the thought of making her come that I almost miss the upset on her face, confusion mixed with hurt and panic and fear. Once I get past her breasts and it sinks in, though, I’m off the couch and heading toward her in an instant. “What’s wrong, Aria? Are you—”
“Fuck me.”
I freeze in my tracks. “What did you say?”
“I want you to fuck me. Right now. Please.”
Ethan rockets up from his chair, shoots me a look that is half-amused, half-concerned. “I will take that as my cue to leave.”
The fact that Aria doesn’t even glance his way tells me all I need to know about her state of mind. All thoughts of Valducci and revenge disappear in my sudden worry for her.
“Baby.” I cross the last of the distance between us and pull her body flush against mine. “What’s going on? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong. I’ve just been thinking about what you said on the phone earlier and I want it. I want all of it now.”

imageTracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense.

3 cowboys…2 weeks…1 wedding!

Three all-new stories by Kim Law, Terri Osburn, and Liz Talley

Claire, Georgia, and Mary Catherine couldn’t be more different, but they promised they would be there for one another no matter what. And when they all gather in Holly Hills, Texas, for Mary Catherine’s Christmas wedding, they’ll find they have one thing in common: hearts that are about to be branded—by unforgettable cowboys.

In “Love Me, Cowboy” by Terri Osburn, wallflower Claire would be more excited about the wedding if it didn’t mean running into Mary Catherine’s brother—the bull rider she once had a scorching one-night stand with…

Ivy League volleyball coach Georgia never wanted to see Holly Hills—or another cowboy—again. But a sexy veterinarian is making her rethink her vow to never marry a Texas man in “Kiss Me, Cowboy” by Liz Talley.

Claire and Georgia both think that Mary Catherine is getting hitched to the wrong man, despite how perfect he is. And in “Marry Me, Cowboy” by Kim Law, a local rancher with a wild reputation gives Mary Catherine a glimpse of what might have been—and what could still be…

“Love Me, Cowboy” was a cute love story revolving around past love rekindling. I liked Tyler and Claire and enjoyed reading how they worked through their misconceptions of the past to find the adults they have become. Terri Osburn has a nice easy flow to her writing that brought the characters to life.

“Kiss Me, Cowboy” is also a fast paced story that entwines perfectly to Love Me, Cowboy. How Georgia could expect to resist Reed for even five minutes was a mystery I enjoyed reading. Overall a smoothly written little romance about coming home and taking chances.

“Marry Me, Cowboy” was the finale of the wedding story and I loved it. I liked that the “marrying the wrong guy” didn’t feel like the same old story. It was well written and tied up the anthology quite nicely. And as an overall comment to this book: I liked that it was one story told from three different perspectives with three happily-ever-afters. It also helped that the three author’s writing styles complimented each other.
