I liked this installment in the Heartbreaker Bay series. Ivy may have tried to portray herself as a loner, but her kindness and heart showed through to everyone. I enjoyed the fun-loving banter of her friends and wished I were one of them. Kel saw through her shell and was wonderfully persistent in winning her over. I liked that he could see through her cover, but not his own. Neither of them wanted a relationship, but they didn’t belabor the issue until I rolled my eyes. Nicely done. Even when one of them screws up later in the book – you’re invested in their character and relationship enough to forgive them. This is a lovely feel-good, hot romance that still has me smiling.
