DESCRIPTION:

Lily had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Derek for years – which led to their steamy night ten months ago in her bedroom. Now, Lily is going off to college and she and Derek are still going strong. However, when school starts, she realizes it’s hard to maintain a relationship while also trying to live her own life. She and Derek find themselves falling apart and Lily has no idea where to turn.

Enter Jack. Everything about him is wrong for Lily and she knows it, but she can’t stop herself from being attracted to him. When things implode with Derek, it’s Jack who is there to pick up the pieces – and show Lily an entirely new set of experiences she didn’t know she was missing.

Of course, Jack has his own problems and once Lily gets to know him better, she starts to wonder if she can handle all of Jack. When Derek reappears on the scene, Lily is forced to decide between two guys and herself. Can she find herself without losing the people who matter in the process?

This is a work intended for readers 18+ as it features explicit sex between people in college.

REVIEW:

A novel about a college student realizing that life at college is far different than the life she left at home. And true to her age, she finds her own identity in the process. This is an erotic story full of scorching sex but that does not overshadow the story line. I would have liked to have it read a little smoother in spots, but over all I enjoyed it. Not just the sex, but the story as well.

DESCRIPTION:

Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it’s the woman who changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and desire…

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side—extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Even the women he’s shared with his best friend, Jace.

But Jace is involved with a woman he has no intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a relationship with a woman who gives him everything he needs, leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.

Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

REVIEW:

I was so anxious for Ash’s story and was not disappointed at all. His intensity was softened by his caring treatment of Josie. In that I mean it held a softer BDSM quality that I found appealing. The storyline had the intrigue and danger that I like, but it did not overshadow the romance or the lighter girlfriend fun. A well written closure to this series. This set of books will stay on my keeper shelf.

Jaded Youth by A G Chambers

Jaded Youth by A G Chambers
Publication Date: August 1, 2013

Rated: 4 Stars

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

DINM’s destruction has made Jade’s team invincible in the eyes of every other Doppelganger, giving Adrian and Joanna the chance to finally prove themselves, explore the terms of their new contracts and the tempestuous relationship brewing between them.

Both have secrets, nightmares, memories that would be better off buried in the past and people they wish they could forget. Joining together might just give them the redemption they both so badly crave. But with an overprotective brother and a newly found Fettle DP that has sent Joanna’s emotional control into turmoil, it’s unclear whether they even stand a fighting chance.

Then there’s the trouble boiling within the government’s own four walls as the treasury continues to be drained with a never ending list of unaccounted expenses, disappearing without a trace. Adrian is enlisted to ghost the perpetrator with his Orb, and Joanna’s help.

Their progress is stunted before it can even begin, their contracts ripped away from them as the team realise that the aftermath of DINM reaps more problems than rewards. When the minister they’ve been shadowing inadvertently introduces them to a man both Adrian and Joanna recognise, their dark pasts become entangled in a twist of fate none of the team saw coming.

REVIEW:

This is the second book in A.G. Chamber’s Jaded series. It is a young adult series with a science fiction twist about a team of assassins and their doppelgängers. I recommend reading Jaded Rein before reading Jaded Youth to understand the back story. I read both books back to back and they kept me on edge and turning the pages to see what what happen next. A G Chambers creates a vivid world and characters that draw the reader into the story. Jaded Youth is full of mystery, suspense, intrigue and great characters. Jaded Youth is focused on Adrian and Joanna’s growing relationship and establishing their roles on the team. Suspenseful science fiction story with a good plot. I recommend this book and this series for science fiction lovers.

About A G Chambers

20130728-213638.jpg A G Chambers is the author of Jaded Rein, the first in a five novel series about the world of Doppelgangers, having to clean up the government’s messes over a new genetic development they don’t know how to handle.

She loves work by Nalini Singh, J K Rowling, Enid Blyton, Lara Adrian, Patricia Cornwell, Lee Child and a number of other authors.

Split between UK and New Zealand, A G Chambers has always had a passion for writing with her first short story at 8 years old, ‘Chocoblock’ and poem ‘Seasons’. From there she was nominated in the top 10 novelists at 12 years of age for her short story memoir, which featured a doughnut eating horse and has since gone on to publish her first novel, Jaded Rein, at 18. Funnily enough, she almost failed her second year of English and spent a considerable amount of time debating whether or not she wanted to be a chemist before she became a Publishing Assistant for The University of Law in London.

HOW TO DATE A DRAGON BY Ashlyn Chase

HOW TO DATE A DRAGON BY Ashlyn Chase
PUBLICATION DATE: September 3, 2013
REVIEW BY: Reading in Pajamas/Donna
RATED: 3.5 Stars

DESCRIPTION:

Bliss Russo thought nothing exciting ever happened in her life. Until her building caught on fire and she had to be carried out of the flames in the arms of a gorgeous fireman. Sure, her apartment is now in shambles and she’ll have to start her huge work project completely from scratch. But at least her love life is finally looking up…if only she can find her red-hot rescuer again.
Dragon shapeshifter Drake Cameron is the last of his clan, and the loneliness is starting to claw at him. He’s met only one woman who might be able to stand the shock of his true nature. After all, she barely batted an eyelash when her home burned down. And feeling her curves against him was just as hot as the inferno. Just when he thinks he’ll never track her down, she walks into his firehouse—with no idea what she’s about to get herself into…

REVIEW:

This is a fun and lighthearted romance that has action and drama without getting you all tense. I enjoyed Bliss’ snarky attitude and could relate to the family dynamics. Drake was a good counter to her personality. And who doesn’t love a dragon? I had hoped the author would have described his transformation more as I could not get a real picture in my mind, but that is a minor thing. All in all, this was an enjoyable read.

Sylvia Day’s steamy Crossfire series headed to TV – USA Today

I can not wait! So many great books and series are being made into television shows and movies. I think it’s awesome! In my opinion nothing they can come up with on the screen beats the book, but that being said I really like to see my favorite characters brought to life. This is going to be a really hot show. I’m thinking HBO, Starz or Showtime will pick it up.
Here is the article from USA Today:

Sylvia Day’s steamy Crossfire series headed to TV
Lindsay Deutsch, USA TODAY 5:56 p.m. EDT August 5, 2013

“You really couldn’t do a PG version of Crossfire!” Day says.

It’s official! Sylvia Day’sCrossfireseries is headed to small screen. Lionsgate, the production company behind the new Netflix seriesOrange is the New Black, has optioned the best-selling erotic trilogy.

No network has yet signed on.

Day’s books, which are often compared to E.L. James’ Fifty Shades series, have sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. The most recent book in the series, Entwined With You, debuted at No. 1 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list in June.

The series centers on Eva Tramell, a young woman in the New York advertising world, and her steamy relationship with billionaire businessman Gideon Cross.

Day spilled the beans in an interview with Bookish in June, in which she talked about the big news. She said she’ll act as an executive advisor, but will not write for the show. And of course, since it’s a book known for its erotic sex scenes, Day addressed how they’ll approach the subject for television:

“Usually, protagonists in erotic romance have difficult times communicating verbally, so the way that they get their feelings across–whether it’s anger, happiness, love, lust, all of it–is during the sex scenes. You really couldn’t do a PG version of Crossfire! It just wouldn’t work. They have that in mind. We’re all on board with the fact that it would need to be premium cable, on which recently we’ve seen a lot of wonderful book-to-film adaptations: Game of Thrones, Dexter, True Blood.”

Day goes on to say it’s expected that producers will follow the storyline as she wrote it.

“I’m sure we’ll see a lot of that translated to film, which should be interesting and hopefully not too hard on the actors… I’m really excited. And of course, it’s Lionsgate, which has The Hunger Games and Twilight; they’re working on Divergent right now. This is a studio that is very familiar with book-to-film adaptations and doing them really well and staying true to the stories. I expect no less with the Crossfire series,” she says.

“Sylvia has created an enduring, sexy and edgy story, and we’re looking forward to working with her to create a show that both excites and connects with audiences as her books have done,” said executive vice president Chris Selak in the studio’s press release.

The first book in the series, Bared to You, reached No. 5 and has spent 65 weeks on USA TODAY’s list, and Reflected in You made it to No. 2 and has spent 43 weeks on the list.
