SynopsisTo Casey, Montgomery Prep isn’t just DC’s most prestigious private school-it’s her alma mater, the place where her fondest memories were made. It’s also her current employer and the target of a dangerous cyber criminal. But even more shocking than the crime is the sexy FBI agent who comes to investigate . . .

With his six-plus frame and gym-sculpted body, no one would suspect FBI special agent Sam Cooper was once an awkward teenage computer geek-no one, that is, except Casey, the gorgeous girl who captured his heart on the first day of high school and held it for the last fourteen years. When a hunt for a hacker brings Casey back into Sam’s life, his long-denied desire becomes impossible to ignore. He knows just how to make her forget the boy he was . . . and show her the man he’s become.

“Do you cook?” he asked.
“Not really.” She reached for the plate, which had a little wisp of steam rising from the fluffy yellow omelet. “I make a mean salad from the bag.”
“You should learn to cook. Besides the fact that it’s fun, it could give you total control over what you eat, and I know how you like control.”
She glanced sharply around him around a mouthful of egg and saw that he was smiling at her as if he loved and admired the fact that she was a control freak. Most men hated that aspect of her personality. Sam had always respected her need to lead, and anytime they’d had to work on a class project in school, he’d let her take the reins, offering her support but never trying to take over simply because he had a penis.
“I’ve been told that learning to cook would be a healthy way to heal. Kind of like therapy,” she admitted, “but I haven’t made time.”
“Make time,” Sam said. “I’m going to teach you. I also want to take you out on a date again, therefore we’re going to hang out here and talk so I can learn more about what would be a fun date for you and what is going to push your buttons.”
“We’re going on another date?” She hadn’t meant to add that saucy tone, but it came out on its own. Here was the chemistry she’d been missing in her date with Matt Melles. He’d emailed to say he had a nice time at dinner, but he hadn’t asked her out again, which meant he was also feeling the lack of chemistry. Fine with her, especially since she was finding it with Sam.
He nodded and placed his empty plate on the counter. He stood, got in her space, and wrapped a long strand of her hair around his finger. “Yeah, Casey. We are. I let you get your way in high school, and I gave up on you in college, and then I tried to forget about you the last six years. I’m done. I’ve wanted this for a long time, and now it’s going to happen.”
Words failed her, and her heart pounded at his nearness. She’d suspected—no, she’d known—throughout high school that Sam had a crush on her, and she’d wrecked him for it, mocking him and letting him know he didn’t have a shot. If she’d had an inkling he would grow up to be this tall, smart, compelling man, maybe she would’ve paid attention when he was a teenager.
“We’ll see,” was all she allowed, and didn’t know how to react when he laughed.
“Can’t let me win, can you, Case?” He leaned in, making their lips inches apart. “It’s okay. I like a challenge.”
And then he kissed her.
His lips were soft but intent on hers, and her neck bent back as she craned for more of his taste. It was as if she’d been waiting her whole life to be kissed by Sam Cooper, which was ridiculous since she’d been avoiding his advances long enough to have an advanced degree in it.
Yet he was the one graduating with honors in how to kiss your high school crush. His touch was gentle, and her body ached to be held, yet he kept space between them, allowing only their lips to connect. Their tongues brushed briefly and gloriously then he pulled back to nibble at her lower lip and gave attention to a different part of her mouth. Their breaths mingled as they tasted grapefruit on each other. Her body felt as if it were floating toward him, though she remained anchored on her chair. She hadn’t realized how many sensitive spots there were on her lips, yet Sam unerringly found them all. The man could kiss. He’d learned a thing or two-million since they’d last locked lips after graduation.

In Bed with the Bodyguard by Lynne Silver

Publication Date: October 13, 2015

image imageGallery owner Arianna Rose’s life is picture-perfect-until her father is accused of running a massive Ponzi scheme and skips town. The media quickly casts Washington, DC’s sweetheart as America’s most hated heiress. After the police ignore a violent attack on her home, Ari has only one place left to turn . . .

Taking a bullet for the president made Secret Service agent Lance Brown a national hero. His sexy smile and action-star body made him a national sex symbol. And his devotion to protecting the innocent makes him the man in charge of guarding Arianna Rose. She denies her role in her father’s crimes, but neither she nor Lance can deny the heat building between them. Together they play a dangerous game . . . only it’s not criminal-it’s carnal.

Ari rolled onto her side for the millionth time that night. She wondered if Lance was having any more luck sleeping on the couch. She didn’t think so if the noises emanating from his side of the room were any indication.

Oh God, his thigh. She should have thought more about his injury. How in the world would a six foot two man sleep on her small sofa, especially with a bum leg, He probably needed to stretch it out.

This was ridiculous; she was not getting any sleep tonight. If Lance weren’t here, she’d give up, flip on the lights and head to the potter’s wheel. A one second brain flash of her as Demi Moore and Lance as Patrick Swayze entered into her mind but she shook it off as the one AM crazies.

“Lance,” she whispered. “Lance.”

“Hmmm?” A male grumble rose from the couch.

“Are you awake?”

“Sorta.”

“Switch places with me.”

“What? Why?” He sat up.

“I can’t sleep knowing I put an injured man on the couch. An injured tall man.” She struggled to see his face in the dark, but could only make out shadows of his form.

“I’m fine. Go back to sleep.”

“No.” She hopped off the bed taking her pillow with her.

“Arianna, I won’t be able to sleep knowing I kicked a beautiful woman out of bed in her own apartment.”

He’d called her beautiful. She shouldn’t let his words shouldn’t warm her insides, but still, his compliment brought a smile to her lips. “Oh, I know. We can share the bed.” She turned back and crawled under the covers, her stomach jumping at the thought of Lance in her bed. Not that anything was going to happen. Well, nothing much. She wouldn’t be completely opposed to a little snuggle or if their feet brushed against each other.

“Hell no.” His refusal came way too quickly for her liking.

“Why not? Will your girlfriend be jealous? It’ll be purely platonic. Bring some of those blankets over here and roll them down the center of the bed. Problem solved.”

“I don’t have a girlfriend, but I…”

“Tempted? I promise to keep my hands off you,” she said, smiling that he didn’t have a girlfriend and knowing she’d have to sleep on her hands and have at least ten blankets dividing them to keep from rolling into his welcoming masculine heat. She’d already revised her opinion that he was a jerk. Lance was proving to be way more superhero than jerk. His willingness to stay and protect her went a long way toward softening her resistance to him.

“Will it shut you up?” He stood off the couch. Each of his footsteps coming closer mimicked the pounding of her heartbeat.

“Yep.” She scooted close to the edge of the bed and lay back down. When his weight sank one side of the mattress, she rolled then scooted back to the side. His warmth seeped through offering her a comfort she hadn’t felt in ten months since her nightmare began. It would be so easy to inch closer, and let her hands wander over his body, but she reminded herself he’d bolt if she got bold. He’d made it clear he was fighting the attraction between them. Silly man. Why not take what she was offering? Then she froze and wondered what exactly she was offering. She was off relationships and Lance wasn’t a one-night stand kind of guy. Looked like she’d be sharing a bed with a man and not having sex; a first.

It seemed she’d just shut her eyes when the sun blasted through her windows waking her up. She sat up with a jolt and heard a noise coming from the bathroom. Sounded like someone was in her…shower? What kind of criminal broke in to shower in someone’s home? Then it all came flooding back. Her dad, the gallery vandal, the sexy man who’d spent the night in her bed. She nearly laughed. Never had a man ever slept over and nothing happened, not even a good-night kiss. What a waste. Lance was hot, and he was in her shower. Naked. She should probably go see if he needed shampoo or his back scrubbed. It was the charitable thing to do.

Before she could act on her impulse, the shower stopped and silence fell as Lance stepped out of the bathroom, white towel wrapped low on his hips. His tousled hair fell in all directions, dripping water down his muscular chest only lightly dusted with light brown hair. He had a full six pack of abs that spoke to his dedication to staying in shape for his job, and he had those total sexy hip lines going on.
Ari swallowed hard as he offered her a small uneven smile.

“Morning. I was hoping to be dressed by the time you woke up. I’ll grab my clothes and head back in there to change.”

“Don’t bother on my account.” Her lust amped up at his appearance, and made her voice take on a throaty, breathy quality.

Hot Nights with the Fireman by Lynne Silver

Everyone in Washington, DC, knows that when the heat is on, you call Valerie Wainright. This brilliant, brassy PR maven can spin any hot scandal, and she’s never let a client ruffle her feathers. Yet when she agrees to teach DC’s bravest how to handle a media frenzy, she faces an entirely different kind of fire. Keeping things all business and no pleasure is far harder than she expected.

After steamy photos ignite the Internet, firefighter Jason Moore instantly goes from hero to bad boy. While he couldn’t care less about an online rep, he cares a lot about his job and saving lives. If Valerie can help clear his name, he’ll do what she says-even if it means forcing himself to keep his hands off her. But beneath Valerie’s cool cover, Jason feels a smoldering desire that lights his own. And this is one inferno he’ll definitely want to stoke…

IMG_0032“I pulled your father out of the dining room, because it looked as though you and Jason wanted to be alone.”

“What makes you say that?” She toyed with the fabric of the comforter folding it this way, then that. “We were just studying.”

Her stepmother smiled. “Valerie, maybe you fooled your father, but it was perfectly obvious to me you and Jason were busy, and not with paperwork. In fact, I’m guessing our timing might have spoiled things.”

“No,” she said, then calmed her tone, realizing, she’d practically shouted. “Your timing was perfect. Impeccable. It was a mistake to have Jason over. One I won’t be making again.” She still couldn’t meet her stepmother’s steady gaze. She took a breath and tried. What she saw in the older woman’s knowing eyes tugged at her heart and sent her stomach churning.

“Honey, when’s the last time you dated anyone?”

“I went on a date about two months ago.”

Mom’s hand covered hers. “But it was just a date. Nothing serious. It’s been years since you’ve been in a serious relationship…It’s time to take a risk. The rewards are worth it.”

“It’s been a while,” she admitted. “But don’t get any ideas about Jason. We don’t fit together and make sense as a couple. I mean…passion fades right? Better to have lots in common. And Jason… he’s a firefighter. He’ll always be putting himself in danger. I don’t know if I could live with that or the memories his job brings up for me. Also, he’s a player. I only met him because he was caught online with a bunch of naked women.” She realized her response revealed more than she’d meant to give, but her stepmom didn’t say anything for a while.

Finally, Judy stood and took a few steps toward the door of Valerie’s room then turned back. “Val, I hesitate to bring this up, because I’ve tried to never interfere in your love life…” She paused and worried her hands in front of her belly. “You know I love your father, but I have to confess, when I married him, gaining a daughter was a big part of the deal for me. I was never able to have my own biological children, but honey, you are mine.”

A lump formed in her throat as she stood to go embrace her mother, the woman who’d come into a sad seven-year-old’s life and brought happiness. They hugged for a long time, and when Valerie made to let go and step back, Judy hung on. “You had a light in your eyes tonight, Val. One I haven’t seen on your face in a long time. Think about it. Is there anything so terrible about having a wild affair?” She gave a last squeeze and finally let go.

Val stood alone in her bedroom staring at the doorway. First Jason, now her mom. Was no one happy with her single status? The real question was, was she? She got ready for bed and sat amidst her pillows reading a book, but not really seeing the words.

The kisses with Jason kept playing in her mind and the walls of her childhood bedroom felt as if they were closing in on her. She’d been living in fear ever since college and there was no reason to, especially when she could do something about it. She could sleep with Jason. And maybe, if she played her cards right, she could hide her scarred legs.
No strings or emotional ties hot sex with Jason. She knew her friend Ari would tell her to go for it and act on the attraction. Her stepmother would tell her to follow her heart. She’d have to leave her heart out of it if she were to survive the experience with her heart intact. No strings sex, which was surely the only kind he wanted, despite his pretty words tonight.

She could handle it, and maybe he wouldn’t have to handle seeing her legs. She could turn the lights out or stay under blankets. Her feelings and thoughts were her only beacon to guide her. She knew what her body wanted. It wanted Jason.
