I completely enjoyed this contemporary romance. Major (yes, that is his name) instantly grabbed my attention because of his inner dialogue during the opening scene, then he never let go. Even when he sometimes acted like “an annoying man”, I couldn’t get mad at him. Thankfully he had his perfect match in Brynn. She was also likeable and someone I could relate to. They were both just coasting through life with no time to realize they weren’t really living. I loved their journey of not only love but finding themselves and inner happiness.

The flirty banter between Brynn and Major, and camaraderie between the townspeople and friends made this a book I couldn’t put down. Especially those characters that kept me wondering if I liked them or not. It all blended into a lovely story about family, friendship, small town life, and finding true happiness when you least expect it. The epilogue was a perfect ending….I’m still smiling.

This was an interesting mystery/thriller. I just love the camaraderie between Vienna and her girlfriends. It adds a fun and easy contrast to the stoic operatives surrounding them. We met these people in Murder at Sunrise Lake, but it is a stand-alone story and the reader can easily get to know the characters, especially when the girlfriends get together and chat.

I liked Vienna and her complex life story. Her unique extrasensory gift added a nice element to the story as well. Her likeability and relatability was secured by her friends instead of her love interest. I didn’t really get a connection to Zale. He wasn’t a constant fixture in the story, and when he was, it wasn’t enough to feel their connection. They did seem to compliment each other’s strengths – so there is that.

The suspenseful story did keep me guessing and I was satisfied with how it all played out. And I’ll let you know that you will learn a lot about playing cards and rock climbing. This was listed as a romantic thriller, but I think it is more a thriller with romantic elements – still enjoyable and held my interest until the end.

This was such a fun witchy rom-com. Reggie’s cluelessness about the witching world, the eccentric wackiness of her elderly employer, and the taciturn Ben’s behavior made me laugh. It all blended into a charming, sexy and fun mystery. The romance was a slow burn that thankfully became nicely heated. The mystery was fun and let the reader delve deeper into the magical world while the story unfolded. Part of me wishes we could have delved a bit deeper into the characters and their lives, but part of me just enjoyed the quick-read aspect of it all. I was charmed.

This book had it all. Love triangles, death, good & evil, love, hate, violence, friendship, smiles, and tears. Yet it wasn’t a jumbled mess of storylines. It all wove nicely into an exciting tale that held on to me long after the last page was read. Erika and Balz were perfectly matched. Her intelligence and strength blended so well with his and their conversations flowed easily so you just knew they were meant for each other.  I think she is my favorite shellan so far. She can handle herself and is strong without being cold. She is also not a damsel in distress. I love that he appreciates that in her. From time to time, their connection almost had a “fated” feel about it, but it blossomed nicely into a wonderful love.

I will not divulge any of the storyline because I want you to take this rollercoaster ride for yourselves. So, I will be vague on the following comments. Devina – the demon we love to hate is at it again, only tenfold. This set into motion some situations that made me bark out “WHAT?” a few times. Who am I kidding….I said a few other things as well. The book was full of surprises that make me wish book 21 was coming out tomorrow. I also can’t wait until others read it so I can talk about it all.

I’m a sucker for K-9 stories and was not disappointed in this one. This romantic suspense kept me glued to the pages and guessing until the end. The tension and danger around the string of opioid deaths was riveting and framed the romance nicely. The one downside for me was understanding two intelligent professionals harboring a general mistrust and hatred for certain professions. (I don’t want to give away any storyline.) It took me out of the story’s flow when it was brought up…a lot. Especially Tori’s particular dislike – the DEA were just doing their jobs.  (Ok, I’ll quit on that bit.)

The book was an enemies-to-lovers with a slow burn romance. Normally I like the physical stuff to move faster, but it worked for this story. Deck was the usual hot DEA Agent. I enjoyed his camaraderie with the other agents and his personality. He was my favorite kind of book hero. Tori was a strong and smart ER Doctor that could take care of herself. I liked that the only time she became a damsel in distress, was when she was out of her realm of experience. They made a good and realistic couple. Now – for my favorite character of this book – K-9 Officer Thor. I just loved that dog.

This is my first novel by Zoe Forward, and it won’t be my last. I found Nightslayer to be a fun and quick paranormal romance. Gemma’s life was rooted in gritty reality despite her friend being a witch. I liked that about her – that friendship helped her deal with the odd circumstances that propelled her into a new reality. It was a hoot watching her ramble on about things and sayings we would understand but were completely foreign to those on the other side. That made it fun to watch the taciturn  Skarde struggle to maintain his reputation as the biggest badass around. The storyline seemed a bit rushed at parts, and some behavior made me want to smack them upside the head, but I still enjoyed the dangerous twists and turns around their friends and foes…especially the characters I wasn’t sure about. I hope the next books is about Skarde’s brother. That I would like to see.

I enjoyed this installment in the GhostWalker series, especially since we get back to Team One again. I like the close-knit dynamic of that group and how they pull together during a crisis. The start of this book was a bit slow due to detailed descriptions of things that bogged it down for me. I would rather it had been more character driven. That feeling quickly changed as I came to appreciate how the author blended their personalities seamlessly as the story progressed.  Camellia was intelligent and self-driven, yet soft at heart. I’m glad that Jonas appreciated and was awed by her ability to accept and discover what her abilities were capable of doing. It was good to see him leaning on her for help with his own issues while still being strong. I’m usually not a fan of “fated love”, but they made it seem so natural and lovely.

The story itself was intense. Not so much physical battles, but battles that are unseen and can only be guessed at. The tension was fun and held me captive. I loved Jonas and Camellia’s unique abilities, it made for a fun and engrossing read. I won’t go into details on the storyline or their abilities, as I want the reader to make that journey without me giving it away. If it isn’t on the blurb…I am not going to share. Just know that I loved it.

Erika Kelly delivered another great love story. This one was a little different than some of her others. I didn’t immediately love the heroine. She went through a lot of character development. Declan and Phinney were complete opposites but worked. This story was emotional, steamy and kept me turning the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted more. I highly recommend anything Erika Kelly writes for romance lovers. She always delivers a well written story with great characters, plenty of romance and a happily ever after.

I started the year off with this book and it did not disappoint. I loved Halo and Ophelia together. A harpy was just what Halo needed to shake up his life. If I could be anything I think I would be one of Gena Showalter’s harpies. IMMORTAL kept me up all night flipping the pages. Lots of angst, humor, sexy times, danger and a great love story. I highly recommend this series! It is a spin-off from the Lords of the Underworld Series but it can be read as a stand alone series. I love the LOTU series and highly recommend it if you haven’t read it though. It’s one I read over and over and it never gets old. Gena Showalter is one of my favorites.
